Raising LFC to 120 on 240Hz display?

Talk about NVIDIA G-SYNC, a variable refresh rate (VRR) technology. G-SYNC eliminates stutters, tearing, and reduces input lag. List of G-SYNC Monitors.

Raising LFC to 120 on 240Hz display?

Post by Dreamic » 04 Sep 2022, 03:29

Feel like this is unorthodox so just wonder what Chief Blur Buster thinks, if anythings objectionable.

My display brightness flickers when LFC engages/disengages, so for a game which is almost always below 120fps does it make sense to raise LFC 120-240 and cap FPS 116~ so LFC never disengages? Specifically 119-240Hz as that's as specific as CRU lets you be and actual max Hz is 239.957Hz. On a 360Hz display you could do 180-360Hz which would basically keep you in LFC for all new AAA games with max settings.

Any reason this is a bad idea?
Life would be easier to lower it 30-240Hz as I would never get low enough to engage LFC, but then I'm getting half or less of the Hz I could be.
