Hello. I have a LG ULTRA GEAR 24GN600 monitor (1080p/144hz, IPS G-Sync compatible, I connect via DisplayPort).
I usually add custom higher resolutions with Nvidia Control Panel and don't have trouble getting G-Sync to work on DX11 or Vulkan games, but on DX12 games G-Sync never activates.
One solution I found was using CRU. It works and when I create resolutions using an Extension Block, I can go as high as 4k/90hz without the screen glitching. But I wonder if I can damage my display because the pixel clock goes up to 800Mhz, which is way beyond the limit I get when I add the resolution as a Detailed Resolution (which only goes as far as 4k/72hz and I still get glitches that way).
Why is using extension blocks more flexible? Can I actually damage my screen with custom resolutions that take pixel clock that far?

Talk about NVIDIA G-SYNC, a variable refresh rate (VRR) technology. G-SYNC eliminates stutters, tearing, and reduces input lag. List of G-SYNC Monitors.
