Acer XB270HA 27" 1080p 144hz

Talk about NVIDIA G-SYNC, a variable refresh rate (VRR) technology. G-SYNC eliminates stutters, tearing, and reduces input lag. List of G-SYNC Monitors.

Hello,

I have a XB240Habpr g-sync at about 1 month (returned the XB270HA because i just couldn't cope with 1080 on 27"). I can't really say if it has a 8bit panel but i in my opinion it's a great monitor.

The colors are really good but you guys have to realize that with all the 1440p and 4k plus ips 144hz hype the probability of this monitor being reviewed by a professional site in order to get the best settings after calibration is really low.

Hello,
I have this monitor and still fighting with following: g-sync active, and games are running in fullscreen, but fps is still capped on 60 fps (says fps meter from shadowplay - darksiders ii, shadow of mordor etc). Is this normal? Only farcry 4 is on my rig fps over 60 fps. So how can I force 144Hz? For example on asus rog is switcher, but on this monitor is only information osd - and is written in almost all games gsync and 60Hz.
Thx

Why is ULMB on 120Hz so dark?

Microcenter is pretty good at keeping competitive on prices they also price match. ATM the XB240H is $399 but yea AOC is in store only.

I got the XB240H at microcenter used for couple hours and returning. Colors are good with calibration but matte film kills the screen.

I haven't used matte screen in so long people complain about reflections from gloss.
With matte any type of light source in room. It bounces off the mat finish and leave you with hazy look thought the screen just awful makes dark scenes in game unbearable and colors dull.
Glossy might show some reflections but at least doesn't impact the colors clarity in fact makes them even more vibrant.

Gsync is good didn't find it all that smooth under 80fps the whole smoothness at lower framerate little bit exaggerated.
Also ULMB would be good if it wasn't so dark. You have to crank contrast up so much it throws everything off visually it wouldn't be so bad if glossy but like i said before hazy look from matte kills it.

Ill stick with my static refresh till someone releases glossy gsync for most part my s 980s can keep 120 fps in most games just annoying when it drops and games.

The sad truth is that until OLED is out, there really isnt anything out there to enjoy motion in gaming. Its all tradeoffs and endless struggle.

The only glass thats worth anything until then is the new IPS variant called AHVA. Which is IPS with TN response times.

Only three monitors known for 2015 which have it (and thank all the gods that we finally have them):
800$ Acer XB270HU (GSYNC, 27", 144Hz, 2560x1440, IPS)
1000$ Acer XR341CK (GSYNC, 34", 144Hz, 3440x1440, IPS)
600$ ASUS MG279Q (Adaptive Sync -unbranded FreeSync-, 27", 120Hz, 2560x1440, IPS)

For people who are just done dealing with all this shit - there are only these three options. Or waiting 3 years for OLED monitors with VRR.

I still cant believe no OLED monitors to be found. Was like 5 years ago they had at CES

As for the previous comment not to sound all negative don't get me wrong panel type is personal preference.
Outside the the matte finish i really liked the monitor and im not sure if 10 bit or not. The colors were surprising good even better than my current Asus VG236H.

Round 2 i thought about it and really could be waiting forever for glossy screen since really isn't any 144hz glossy either.

So i went and got another one and glad I did last one i got had cloudy thing going on with the back lighting.
I thought it was normal because of the LED back lighting but it wasn't.

This new one the back light on dark screen this seems perfectly even with no bleeding/clouding.
And what i though was the lighting bouncing off the matte screen was more so the clouding effect washing out the colors.

Ill hold on to this till/if glossy ever gets released really nice monitor.

IDK if mention but there is a hidden factory menu i somehow unlocked. When you unlock the OSD moves to the top left of the screen and you will see factory sub menu as the last option.
It has values for overdrive, gsync temperature/revision, burn in and some other stuff i didn't dare change anything.
I'm not sure how i unlocked i noticed for some reason my OSD moved to top left and noticed a factory option since then it went back to normal when i powered down and cant figure out how to unlock again.
