Where are USA G sync monitors??$
Not going to get the Asus with DIY kit since it voids the warranty (silly for a $500 monitor). Is there any word on release dates for the gsync monitors other than Rog Swift. I would love the AOC one but I cant find any information on US availability.

$279 at Newegg. And the installation of the DIY kit is really easy. I wouldn't worry about that. But the new 27-inch ROG Swift is sweet. It's also gonna cost like $800. Big difference for 3-inches.Hel1011 wrote:Not going to get the Asus with DIY kit since it voids the warranty (silly for a $500 monitor). Intel Core i7-4790K @ 4.7Ghz • 2 * ASUS GeForce GTX 780 Ti DirectCU II • Asus VG248QE Monitor w/ G-SYNC • Corsair Obsidian 450D Case • Asus Sabertooth Z97 Mark 2 Mobo • Corsair H100i CPU Cooler • 16GB Corsair Vengeance Pro SDRAM • Windows 8.1 64-bit
Re: Where are USA G sync monitors??$
280 + 200 for kit is almost 500 for a monitor that has no meaningful warranty left. I am curious about release dates for gsync monitors other than rog swift as I mentioned in original post

Not just 3 inches, but a higher resolution, which requires a faster panel to run (8-bit instead of the usual 6). I'm also guessing since it has the ROG brand on it, the price is driven up a bit more, but comparing just based on screen size does not do it justice.Cooknn wrote: $279 at Newegg. I was interested in the Philips G-Sync monitor, but I am rather curious as most of these companies have been silent on a US release meanwhile they are launching/already launched in EU.

Great points I failed to consider. Regarding the OP, I have not seen any retailer with even a pre-order page up in the US. I have to say though, Asus' timing is right. I venture to guess that once the commercial version of the Oculus Rift hits the streets, gaming monitors like this will become much less in demand.omgBlur wrote:Not just 3 inches, but a higher resolution, which requires a faster panel to run (8-bit instead of the usual 6). Any advice on possibly ordering the AOC gsync monitor from the uk store overclockers? Will it work in the US? Will the US branch of AOC honor the warranty?
Re: Where are USA G sync monitors??$
You might want to look into the Acer XB270HAbprz instead. Looks like the price is similar to the AOC, but it's 27" and has an 8-bit panel which in theory means better colors. The AOC is 24" and a 6-bit panel which uses dithering.Hel1011 wrote:Any advice on possibly ordering the AOC gsync monitor from the uk store overclockers? Will it work in the US?
