More FPS without G-SYNC

Talk about NVIDIA G-SYNC, a variable refresh rate (VRR) technology. G-SYNC eliminates stutters, tearing, and reduces input lag. List of G-SYNC Monitors.

More FPS without G-SYNC

Post by Blurisnotcool12 » 12 Jan 2024, 07:50

Hi there,

I recently bought a new monitor. a ViewSonic ELITE XG251G - LED-Monitor 25" IPS - 1920x1080 (Full HD) @ 360 Hz - G-Sync
With G-SYNC turned on at 360hz without ULMB, I get around 220 FPS in warzone.
Without G-SYNC turned on at 240hz with ULMB, I get around 260 FPS in warzone.
Is G-SYNC costing me FPS? I'm not really getting it.

I'm also not so sure how I can test for screen tearing, and if G-SYNC is really needed

My pc specs:

GPU: Palit RTX 4080 OC
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7900X
RAM: Corsair dominator platinum DDR5 5200Mhz 16gb 2x
MOBO: Gigabyte Gaming AX X

Thanks for looking into my post

I have never seen a case where g-sync has an impact on FPS. Maybe you made a mistake somewhere when testing performance?
