AOC Q27G3XMN VRR Range

Post by mario64 » 03 Feb 2024, 21:57

Hi all,

I have an AOC Q27G3XMN 1440p monitor with a RTX 4070 Super GPU connected via DisplayPort. As soon as I enabled g-sync I started experiencing the notorious VRR flicker. According to CRU this monitor's VRR range is 48-180Hz. I've been reading forums, etc but cannot figure out what range I should set for this combo to minimize flickering. This is all new to me. Should I set it to 90-180Hz?

Thanks

An upper limit that's at least 2.5 times higher than the lower limit is usually enough. So in your case, try 72-180. 90 is too high, only use it if you really have to and can't fix the flicker otherwise.

Although with that being said, IIRC, the Nvidia driver might ignore the VRR range with some monitors and use whatever Nvidia has deemed "best" for a specific monitor model. Try and see, I guess.

Didn’t work unfortunately. Loaded up World of Warcraft in a zone where I get max fps of 180 and am still seeing flickering
