How do I check if G-Sync is properly working

How do I check if G-Sync is properly working

Hey everyone.

I got myself an Acer Predator XB271huabmiprz and have been trying to figure out how to check if G-Sync is actually working. I have read a lot of things and read stuff about how if I have my monitor show the refresh rate and it is as high as the fps in a game (below 144 FPS) it is on, or how when I turn the G-Sync Indicator on in the Control Panel it'd.. well indicate that. But neither of it is the case for me. I have turned G-Sync on in the Control Panel, V-Sync off, but yet there is no indicator nor does the refresh rate change at all. It keeps showing the 144 on the top right corner.

How can I be sure G-Sync is working?
