Hi, Ive been looking into getting 144hz monitor for the last month and I got some questions about these two. First think Im wondering is if the blur reduction is tied to the gsync or specific video card models like the g sync (asking because Im with 580gtx and won't change it for some time).
Another question I got is do these two have the black bars option and if black bars work as native resolution. If no is there some software that emulates the option (like the reading modes and etc).
One more thing Im wondering about is how do those two's ghosting compare to xl2720z with latest firmware.
Oh and bonus question, which would you recommend, Im looking at different reviews and testing and surprisingly tftcentral says the asus has better colours even tho it's TN.

Re: Questions about pg278q and xb270hu
You need a g-sync GPU to get ULMB working properly AFAIK. As for 1-1 scaling IDK I don't think it's possible (but g-sync works in windowed mode now so maybe if you make a custom window).
PG278Q may have better color calibration but the IPS panel on the XB270HU will give you better viewing quality because TN colors are only accurate at viewing angles perpendicular to a point on the panel i.e. they are only accurate for that point and anywhere else on the panel will have color shift.
Still, the PG278Q is a good-looking panel IMO. XB270HU also only does 100 hz ULMB IIRC.
