G-Sync ALT+Tab really slow?

I have an issue with when G-Sync is on and my in-game resolution does not match my desktop resolution with my S2417DG. I get horrible alt+tab lag where I sit at a blank screen for like 4-5 seconds, then I hit the desktop and it's like my PC is frozen for another 2-3 seconds when playing Overwatch. For instance, my in-game resolution is 1920x1080 @ 165, my desktop is 2560x1440 @ 165. If I turn off G-Sync, the problem games away. If I set my in-game resolution is set to match my desktop resolution, the problem goes away. It only happens when the in-game resolution doesn't match the desktop resolution, or if G-Sync is completely disabled.

I've tried downloading the latest drivers and doing a clean install with DDU and have the scaling set to the GPU.

W10 x64
GTX 1060
Dell S2417dg

Edit: Maybe it's an issue with Overwatch? I have other games where in the same scenario (G-Sync enabled, my in-game resolution is 1920x1080 @ 165, my desktop is 2560x1440 @ 165) and alt+tab takes 2-3 seconds and there is no freezing.

I tested this in Overwatch with an in-game resolution of 1080p @144Hz, and a desktop resolution of 1440p @144Hz, G-SYNC + V-SYNC (NVCP) enabled; alt+tabbing out took about 1-2 seconds with a couple of black flashes, same with alt+tabbing in.

It must be specific to your configuration/monitor. Do you have the Windows 10 Game Mode or Game bar enabled? Also, have you tried disabling fullscreen optimizations for the game's exe? Other than that, the only suggestion I have is to switch to borderless windowed mode (G-SYNC and in-game).

Looks like disabling "Full Screen Optimizations" fixed the issue. Thanks.

Oh, nice. Glad that fixed it.

Windows 10 Creators Update settings seem to have random effect on different setups currently. I have fullscreen optimizations enabled for the Overwatch exe, and I have no such issues. Go figure.
