I've noticed on a few different games (wow, warframe, I believe the TF beta as well) I'll be playing fine for long stretches with gsync enabled and functioning properly and then all of a sudden my screen will go black. Sometimes I can see about 1/4" strip at the very bottom of the screen but the rest is pure black. Usually I can "fix" it by alt-tabbing out and then coming back in. Sometimes I have to do it multiple times to get it to kick back in. Has anyone else experienced it? I've had it happen with both the 320 reference drivers that were out when our kits initially shipped out and the new 334.89s that just came out recently. It doesn't happen all the time, but it happens enough that it's annoying. Sometimes it seems to happen if/when I alt tab out and come back into a game. This is with just a single monitor.
Just curious if anyone else gets this.
Random black screen with gsync? [may be fixed w/new drivers]
Re: Random black screen with gsync?
I had never experienced this before today, when attempting to play Saints Row 4 caused this to happen at least 10 times over the course of an hour. It left a 1.5-2" strip visible on the bottom of the screen with the top edge of it flickering. This area is frozen and will not update until I alt+tab. This occured at 60 Hz since a bug in the latest patch for SR4 forces a 60 Hz video mode no matter what you do.
Re: Random black screen with gsync?
Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed just did it to me as well almost immediately after reaching the main menu. It seems like it's an issue with the new drivers.
Re: Random black screen with gsync?
This happened to me with Sniper Elite Nazi Zombie 2, My guess is we will see beta drivers on Monday that support Titanfall fully. Hopefully it fixes the South Park Stick of Truth strobing bug as well.

Just updated to the new WHQLs yesterday for Titanfall, I didn't see the patch notes but I'll keep an eye out for the issue.
Re: Random black screen with gsync?
I updated my drivers last night as well, and played a good session of Sonic racing this morning without any issues. Here's hoping the problem is fixed.Boogdud wrote:Just updated to the new WHQLs yesterday for Titanfall, I didn't see the patch notes but I'll keep an eye out for the issue.
One thing I did notice though: The games I've had this happen on were all forcing 60 Hz video modes, so that may be related.
Re: Random black screen with gsync?
Happens to me in Diablo III a lot.

After driver updates, instead of getting the long black screen I get maybe 1-2 frames of black, that actually look more like video hang than anything else.

Good to know!PoWn3d_0704 wrote:After driver updates, instead of getting the long black screen I get maybe 1-2 frames of black, that actually look more like video hang than anything else.
Which driver version is that? The latest beta drivers that just got released?
