Would G-sync work with Displayport switches?

Talk about NVIDIA G-SYNC, a variable refresh rate (VRR) technology. G-SYNC eliminates stutters, tearing, and reduces input lag. List of G-SYNC Monitors.

Would G-sync work with Displayport switches?

Post by THX1138 » 02 Mar 2014, 07:37

Does anyone know if G-sync would work if the monitor is connected via a DP switch (i.e. two DP sources connected to a switchbox which connects to the monitor), where one source is the PC and another source is a set-top box using a HDMI-to-DP adapter?

I'm not sure -- I think this would be something impossible to answer without testing first. GSYNC is a new technology that I don't think switches have been designed to accomodate.
