How do you know for sure GSNYC is being used ?

Talk about NVIDIA G-SYNC, a variable refresh rate (VRR) technology. G-SYNC eliminates stutters, tearing, and reduces input lag. List of G-SYNC Monitors.

When I go to my OSD in game, it says 'normal mode' should it say G Sync ?

For those who are reading this thread subsequently -- yes, the OSD should say G-SYNC mode when you press the monitor button.
(May need to force the game into G-SYNC mode via NVIDIA Control Panel.)
