Hi all,
I'm new to this site so please forgive me if I'm asking something listed elsewhere.
I plan on playing mostly strategy games with a new build (Total War: Warhammer 2, etc.).
Here's some specs that I've chosen so far:
- i7-8700K
- Asus - Prime Z370-A ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
- G.Skill - Flare X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory
- Gigabyte - GeForce GTX 1080 8GB D5X Video Card
For the monitor, I'd like these features:
- LED - IPS
- *At least* 100Hz out of the box, or dependably can OC up to it
- 1440p
- Display Port, HDMI
One feature I'm debating is G-Sync. Question - at refresh rates of 120, 144Hz, and up, does G-Sync matter all that much considering I won't be playing shooters? I read it reduces tearing, but how much does that tearing, and the things G-Sync fixes, bother you, Mr. or Mrs. reader, personally? I know it's subjective, I'm asking for your opinion.
Thank you in advance,
WM
G-Sync - what is your opinion?
Talk about NVIDIA G-SYNC, a variable refresh rate (VRR) technology. G-SYNC eliminates stutters, tearing, and reduces input lag. List of G-SYNC Monitors.
