Apex Legends Optimal Settings for 240hz G-Sync Monitors
Re: Apex Legends Optimal Settings for 240hz G-Sync Monitors
The only question is if the game will behave properly above 144fps...
Re: Apex Legends Optimal Settings for 240hz G-Sync Monitors
It will have moments with 300fps and then suddenly drop to 130 on some areas, as it was before. And to me that´s awful for your aim. doesn´t matter if you are at 240hz, 480hz or 1000hz. A drop from 250 to 130 is a huge difference on mouse sensitivity (muscle memory), and can only hurt, I would rather cap it to 120 and have steady frame times/mouse sens.

Yeah the framerate is so erratic when uncapped.

Hey Notty_PT are you using your XG2402 with 138 fps cap & NVCP V-Sync 'On' with Apex? Give it a try. I've been converted. The extra smoothness is nice and worth it over the input lag that honestly makes no difference imo.

Whatever you do, make sure you use the in-game frame rate cap, instead of an external frame rate cap.
The in-game frame rate caps have less lag, and make sure you enable variable refresh rate.
The "cap a few frames per second below Hz" advice primarily applies to variable refresh rate (GSYNC, FreeSync), while you can use a much tighter frame rate cap for fixed-Hz low-lag VSYNC ON.

Re: Apex Legends Optimal Settings for 240hz G-Sync Monitors
For those still playing Apex, now that the game lets you make more adjustments, what is the best setting if trying to use G-Sync?
I've been running G-Sync ON, V-Sync OFF with a 180fps cap seems to give me the best result.
I was watching a streamer that doesn't use G-Sync, but was still capping his framerate at 190fps with RivaTuner because he said the latest patch had a problem with frame pacing and the slight input lag was worth it. I am not sure what to make of that.
Personally, I usually use G-Sync even though competitive players don't because I feel like I can track targets better.

I as well am interested in how well this game can do at high fps. 300 is preferable but if I can get decent stability at 235 fps I'll take it.
Also what long term power limit are you using for that 5ghz 9700k notty_pt?

You can get nearly steady 230 if you use a config like this:

Will make game look like quite bad though.

I have no idea. I just overclocked it on the bios with 1,29v.open wrote:I as well am interested in how well this game can do at high fps. 300 is preferable but if I can get decent stability at 235 fps I'll take it.
