G-sync feedback

Talk about NVIDIA G-SYNC, a variable refresh rate (VRR) technology. G-SYNC eliminates stutters, tearing, and reduces input lag. List of G-SYNC Monitors.

ok no G-sync, the shop it's too expansive, i think i need to wait or just take a 120 hz monitor and amen!
If i play 70 fps in a 120 hz monitor there is a way to reduce the stuttering to 0? triple buffer?

Unfortunately, no. If the frame rate and the refresh rate don't match, there will always be stuttering/micro-stuttering.

If the game you play at 70fps never dips below 60fps, you could use 60fps@60Hz V-synced. That would remove the stuttering.

If FPS is not a multiple (or divider) of the monitor's current frequency, you will get stutter (regardless of V-Sync.) No way around that; it's the laws of physics :-)

However, at higher frequencies, the stuttering is less pronounced. At 120Hz, the amount of time duplicate frames are displayed is 50% shorter compared to 60Hz. So the stutter is less noticeable. But it's still there.

Anyway why on a 120 hz monitor 60 hz looks so horrible?
I'm thinking to take a Benq Xl2720Z for use it at 60 with lightboost;) any suggestion?

A 120Hz monitor looks the same as a 60Hz monitor if driven at 60fps.
But, if the 120Hz monitor is in strobe back-light mode, then it looks pretty bad at 60fps. This is because the same image is presented for 2 consecutive strobes. And this result in double image artifact when you're tracking a moving object.
That's one of the reasons why we recommend frame rate = refresh rate = strobe rate for the best experience.

Now for a 120Hz monitor driven at 60fps@60Hz you won't get that issue. But 60hz strobed is very flickery and strain the eyes.

Man thanks for help but i can assure you that a friend showed me a VG248QE at 60 hz and was really horrible compared to others 60 hz native monitors....

Are you talking about image quality or motion quality?

That's strange. Shouldn't be the case. Maybe the monitor/cable is defective or maybe the settings aren't optimal.

Hey man thanks for the help, really.
Do you think we need to wait more for g-sync monitor release? i'm in Europe.
