MSI 240hz 0.5ms GSync or Acer 0.3ms Freesync?

Hello,

This is my first post here. I heard this is the go to site for anything monitor related. I'm just going to dive into my questions, which I bolded:

Should I get the $349 240hz 0.5ms MSI Oculux nxg252r with G-Sync or the $349 240hz 0.3ms Acer Nitro XF252Q with Freesync?

TFT Central reviewed the Acer monitor and said it was their fastest monitor they tested, but isn't the MSI monitor also equipped with the same panel?

If so, how can one company claim 0.5ms response time, while the other claims 0.3ms from the same panel?

I'm looking for the lowest input lag as possible. I have an Nvidia GPU btw.

My plan is to to use one of these monitors in Overwatch. From what I've read here, that means turning G-Sync/Adaptive Sync and Vertical Sync on in Nvidia control panel, and then lower the in-game FPS limiter to 237 for consistency. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

If I went with the Acer monitor with Freesync, is there a difference between an official G-Sync monitor at constant 240/237hz in Overwatch?

I wouldn't buy the MSI Oculux nxg252r because it's not reviewed yet except if you want to take a risk :D .

Same panel yes but panel tuning can be different and signal processing time can be different too.

marketing :D

If your fps are stable, I don't think g-sync help.
If you can go above 237fps while staying stable, V-sync off has a bit less input lag, but it's very hard to achieve in Overwatch.

I think there can be : see https://www.blurbusters.com/unexpected- ... enonsense/

In my Opinion, you should buy the Omen X 25f.

Thank you for the response and the links. I already ordered the Acer monitor, but I can return it. What would be a good method to test this monitor? Is there anything you'd like to know about it?

The Acer is a great monitor (according to reviews), don't worry.
If you want to measure input lag you need a high fps camera.
I don't have anything else to test in mind.

Acer XF252Q by a long shot. I really like mine.

and doesn't the MSI .5ms only have 350 nits Brightness? Go with the acer it has 400 and fake HDR (the monitor comps handles the HDR but the panel cant actually display it  )
