Assuming the framerate can be sustained at the auto-cap in both these scenarios, then the input lag between the two would be about the same, with G-SYNC + Fast Sync causing recurring triple-buffer stutter, as Fast Sync is basically the only thing active when used with G-SYNC in this case:

Both scenarios would have around 1 frame more input lag than G-SYNC + V-SYNC + a typical in-game FPS limit.

^ Too early to say for certain, but we do have precedence (at least with G-SYNC) from my earlier (non-official) tests of NULL here:

With G-SYNC, I'm assuming the input lag levels are similar to NULL (probably tapping into the same limiting function), which are similar to RTSS (can't speak for frametime performance between the two), but simply allows a user set limit instead of auto.
Can't say when I'll have the time to formally test this, so the aforementioned should hold true for G-SYNC. As for my optimal G-SYNC settings, they haven't changed concerning this. Basically, if there isn't an in-game limiter available, and/or RTSS can't be used for any reason, use NULL or NVCP Max Framerate limiter.

Eventually, we'll have refresh rate well beyond game max framerates -- witness the ASUS 360 Hz announcement. A VRR range wider than framerate range, means a lot less worrying about what sync treatment you need at max Hz.

Still unsure what to set Low Latency mode to...
Guess I'll just set it to Ultra globally with the NVCP FPS cap.
And in games I'm more serious about like CS:GO I'll just use LLM "On" and use the ingame FPS cap.
We still don't know if Nvidia are improving the Ultra mode unless someone decides to test it every driver release..
