Hello,
I just got a 144hz MSI MAG241CV Freesync monitor (G-Sync compatible) but it doesn't seem like G-Sync is working properly.
The monitor is connected to a GTX 1070 OC with 1.2 DP cable.
So I have enabled Freesync in the monitor OSD, performed a driver clean with DDU, then installed latest nvidia driver and set recommended settings:
Set up Gsync => Enable for full screen mode
Manage 3D settings => Highest available Refresh Rate, G-Sync Monitor Technology, Vsync ON, Low-Latency mode to ON, Limiter set to 141 fps (if in-game limiter is not available)
And finally enabled the G-Sync indicator.
I've tried in several games (Rocket League, RDR2, GTFO) but the G-Sync indicator won't show up and my monitor frequency stays at 144hz even when FPS <140.
Also downloaded the G-Sync Pendulum test app but it doesn't let me select G-Sync (it auto unticks right when I tick the box).
What did I do wrong?
edit: I managed to enable G-Sync by installing an older Nvidia driver, seems like any drivers after 441.66 will prevent g-sync to work with this monitor..
G-Sync not working
Talk about NVIDIA G-SYNC, a variable refresh rate (VRR) technology. G-SYNC eliminates stutters, tearing, and reduces input lag. List of G-SYNC Monitors.
