60hz recommendation

Hello Everybody,

I'm once again on the hunt for a new monitor. I recently learned from my eye doctor about a chronic problem I have with my eyes that is causing me to be extremely sensitive to motion blur that has developed over the past 18 months. I currently have the Acer Predator XB271HU. However, it is too harsh on my eyes with the GtG, the 27" is too big, and I am selling it.

I am highly anticipating the release of the Journey's End update for Terraria, which is my favorite game, but it is a 2D platformer that is locked at 60 fps and 1080p for gameplay. My current monitor is 1440p native, and the game upscaled to 1440p is HORRIBLE because it is pixel based graphics. All of the current motion blur reduction technology I have used in the past is no good on my eyes, so I'm looking to purchase a new monitor that has really, REALY good GtG and the best overdrive available.

Two monitors I am currently looking at are the AOC 24G2 and MSI OPTIX MAG251RX, as I have heard good things about both. I know that whatever I get it MUST meet these requirements:

24" to 24.5"
1080p
IPS
1ms GtG (lowest actually tested would be preferable)
Great overdrive

I'm posting in the G-SYNC section because I'm not sure if having an older Nvidia GeForce GTX 980ti and "Geforce Compatible" or "Freesync Compatible" will work or not. My current monitor is G-SYNC certified, but the new ratings and differences just confuse me no matter what info I read on the internet.

I am also wondering about buying an expensive 4K OLED TV and just using that to play Terraria on, but I don't know where the technology is at the moment or how to even find out about what the best OLED TV for gaming would be. I've heard it has the fastest possible GtG. Since I will be locked at a stable 60fps due to the limitations of the game, I need to reduce motion blur as much as possible using fast pixel response.

I tried two CRT monitors, but the flicker destroyed my eyes to the point of nausea. Crazy that I grew up in the 90s using CRTs my whole life and never had it bother me, not to mention I played games at 30 FPS back then, and I never noticed the double images from the CRT's 60hz, haha.

If anyone has any experience with these monitors or has other recommendations, let me know! I've been waiting for this update for a long time now, and it's pretty much the only thing I enjoy playing anymore or have time for due to my job. Thank you in advance!

Motion blur and flicker cause me major problems as well. I have a CRT that I can use just for a little bit before it's too much. I find it crazy how we used to stare at the things for most of our lives with no issues. I had used a tube TV for 30 years with no issues now no such luck.

This monitor works for me with no issues as I own 2 of them now and use them for 60HZ gaming all the time. It has a 9.7 out of 10 for motion blur on Rtings.com which I think falls just short of the XG2402 which has a 10 out of 10 for motion blur. When I game I put it on the faster setting and I put the contrast at 65 as a user on this forum suggested that so you get less motion blur.
