Are there any advantages of gsync on + vsync off over gsync on + vsync on??

Talk about NVIDIA G-SYNC, a variable refresh rate (VRR) technology. G-SYNC eliminates stutters, tearing, and reduces input lag. List of G-SYNC Monitors.

Yeah, at the same framerate within the refresh rate, G-SYNC + V-SYNC off and standalone V-SYNC off have up to 1/2 frame (so anywhere from 0 to 1/2 frame) advantage in input lag at any given point when compared to G-SYNC + V-SYNC on. This is exhibited as tearing; whenever you see the tear, you're seeing you're literal (and only) input lag reduction over G-SYNC + V-SYNC on.

- G-SYNC + V-SYNC on = G-SYNC ON + V-SYNC ON
- G-SYNC + V-SYNC off = G-SYNC ON + V-SYNC OFF
- standalone V-SYNC off = G-SYNC OFF + V-SYNC OFF

so gsync+vsync off's advantages over both on is only less input lag?

Tearing. When you're asking for less input lag in this case, you're asking for tearing. There is no other difference but that between G-SYNC on + V-SYNC off and G-SYNC on + V-SYNC on inside the refresh rate.

The input lag advantage is TEARING

Image

G-SYNC + V-SYNC is the fastest a single frame can be displayed tear-free; for any faster delivery, it has to tear (aka G-SYNC on + V-SYNC off or G-SYNC off + V-SYNC off). That is your only input lag "advantage" over G-SYNC + V-SYNC: tearing.
