Hello, I'm talking to you, because I recently bought a TV lg oled cx55 for my computer with the brand new 3090 hdmi 2.1
I am very annoyed about some things and that makes me hesitant to keep the TV or not.
First of all I have the last update 3.11.25, but I still encountered some big problems at the beginning and then just one at the moment which disturbs me especially the very first one was changes in brightness ( Video: https://we.tl/t-1crwnWSrNH) you can't see very well with the laptop, but otherwise it was like flickering or flickering white light through the slab, Flickers among others ONLY when G-sync was activated it was for example on Dead by daylight, after having put G-sync in full screen mode and not the second option windowed in the nvidia panel this problem has more or less disappeared (relief).
But now I have a problem that persists and it does it on all games except strangely on Dead by daylight or when G-sync is activated and I exceed 100FPS it creates artifacts on the screen (video: https://we.tl/t-PpGHUhUA6Q ), pixelized vertical lines that appear randomly on the screen at first, it used to make me feel it a lot, now less (I didn't understand why), but it does it anyway and especially in game loading or main menu, in games it's much less frequent even though I exceed 100fps. On resident évil 3 it only does it to me when HDR is activated with g-sync if g-sync and there but no HDR then it's like dead by daylight on the other hand if I don't have g-sync and I put the HDR then it works too. When I deactivate g-sync it doesn't do it to me anymore and I can exceed 100fps without having its artifacts, as soon as I reactivate g-sync I am obliged to cap at 100fps in my nvidia panel then to cap at 97fps on RTSS. Moreover if I cap with RTSS and leave the nvidia panel at 120hz can I cap RTSS at 100fps instead of 97 since the sync will not be activated?
A software update was released in Korea 03.11.26, but is no longer present on the site, do you think the problem really comes from the screen and the software? My card (3090) or a processor bottleneck that exceeds 100fps ( i78700k ) ? I bought 2 different HDMI 2.1 3 meters cables on Amazon I'll get them soon, because I have this one now https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B0869R ... UTF8&psc=1 and manufacturers often abuse HDMI certification by marketing I bought those https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B07GYW ... UTF8&psc=1 and https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B08CZN ... In any case I hope it's a software problem is that they will fix it, because I still have a few days to return it and it bothers me to cap it at 97fps instead of 117fps, it's mostly because I'm afraid that it will damage my hardware with time?

LG is aware of this issue. G-SYNC mode affects the panel's gamma at different framerates, as it adjusts the refresh rate. LG removed 03.11.26 and rolled it into a new version of 03.11.25. As for the problems, yes, some of them come from the CX and the firmware. LG is aware and is still planning on fixing some of the issues. Others are related to hardware, and may not be fully fixed though.

Thank you for your answer, I just tried another cable the artifacts are still present, if I increase the graphics and I go below 100fps it disappears I also noticed that the change in brightness of the gamma on the black was present beyond 100 fps below it is much less visible see invisible (but present ...).
Your opinion knowing that the ASUS/Acer IPS 32inch g-sync ultimate hdr 1400 144hz, etc. will be released in early 2021 do you think that the CX is still the best to play ?
Other optional things you set the resolution to 4096 or 3840? Windows recommends 3840 so I'm not sure.

The panel native resolution is 3840x2160. If you're scaling for improved frame rate, use 1920x1080. RTSS capping is very accurate (microsecond best-effort), so capping to 99 or 100 while keeping the panel to 120 is probably sufficient.
120Hz is lower input lag, since refresh cycles are transmitted over the cable in 1/120sec (at 120Hz) instead of 1/100sec (at 100Hz) no matter what RTSS cap you use for whatever refresh rate.
However, there might be other unintentional benefits (e.g. different gamma bug behaviors at 100Hz vs 120Hz) which I may not be currently aware of. So one, could test both ways and see if the quality differs. If no difference, then use 120Hz due to lower latency.

That depends on your goals. OLED can get permanent image retention if you keep static or repetitive images on it for a long time. After this problem, starts to be visible around 80fps and really seeing above 100 fps to this are added the pixelized artifacts. They haven't been announced yet. They would be next year's model. There's no guarantee G-SYNC would work perfectly on them either though.

Thank you so much I got 199,882 with the link test. I tried to put 119.872 on RTSS but I can't get it to work so it marks 300 when I validate or 119 so I left it at 119.If you use G-SYNC off + V-SYNC on, and your framerate can exceed your refresh rate, you still need an FPS limit to avoid V-SYNC input lag.

In any case if the VRR is there I try to limit it to 80fps to avoid flickering with the v-sync on nvidia and v-sync off games.after review the g-sync on dead by daylight is just horrible I took it all off so much it was jerky !
For the other games it's more fluid but I think I'll remove the VRR in any case and keep only for the greedy games.

It looks like LG will release a firmware https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XOhV0jCB6YU 03.21.03 in the near future is that it will fix the baying worries horribly hoping that the flicker and artifact will be removed too!

For G-SYNC, use bigger differentials (3fps below)
For Low-Lag VSYNC, use tiny differentials (0.01fps below)
For RTSS Scanline Sync, use no differential
For LG C9 G-SYNC Fix, use massive differential (~20fps below)
Do not mix up the cap differentials!!!
So try using 99fps RTSS cap for LG C9 G-SYNC.
