Assassins Creed Valhalla does not recognize Gsync

Talk about NVIDIA G-SYNC, a variable refresh rate (VRR) technology. G-SYNC eliminates stutters, tearing, and reduces input lag. List of G-SYNC Monitors.

Assassins Creed Valhalla does not recognize Gsync

Post by FlavioPlaza » 08 Jan 2021, 19:04

Basically this game is the only one that when I enter the hz rates are fixed at 144, so I suppose it is not recognizing Gsync. I already checked and the game is in full screen. Any solution?

1. Make sure your framerate or framerate limiter is 141 FPS or under (G-SYNC does not engage with framerates above the refresh rate).

If that doesn't work, try to:

2. Disable fullscreen optimizations for the game exe.

And if that doesn't work, try to:

3. Temporarily change G-SYNC to "Enable for windowed and full screen" mode under NVCP > Set up G-SYNC (if you haven't already).

I noticed that this happened after activating Vsync through the Nvidia control panel. If I disable it via the panel and activate it within the game, it will recognize Gsync. Could this be a game engine mismatch?

Could be a game and/or driver-specific issue then. There's no harm in using G-SYNC with in-game V-SYNC in this case if that's the only way you can engage it in this game.
