Ultrawide monitors with GSYNC and FREESYNC with HDMI 2.0?

I'm currently using an Acer X34 which is great but it only supports 1920x1080 (60 Hz) on the HDMI port. I'm looking for at least 1920x1440 or better yet 2560x1440p.
The LG 34GN850 looks nice but I've heard it doesn't support "variable overdrive" because it doesn't have an actual g-sync chip. Is this true? Is it important?
Are there any ultrawide monitors with a gsync chip that support hdmi 2.0 (with freesync) as well?
