G-Sync vs G-Sync Ultimate

Hello,

I wanted to ask this because I couldn't find a conclusive answer with proper backing. I do understand everything that Nvidia markets with G-Sync Ultimate except one thing, "Advanced Nvidia G-Sync Processor".

Is this advanced processor supposed to offer a better "tear free" experience compared to a regular G-Sync processor?

Appreciate your time to stop by and read :)

Not that I'm aware of.

Just HDR and FALD (backlight zone calculation) support and other processing-level capability improvements (sometimes sRGB clamp modes, etc), which aren't directly related to base G-SYNC operation.

IIRC

It also helps make an accurate response time curve so that u dont get the flickering that comes with regular VRR.

It will change the overdrive of the pixel response times along with the refresh to keep ghosting and overshoot under control through the whole VRR refresh range.

That difference applies to G-SYNC Compatible (software VRR) vs. G-SYNC (hardware module VRR), whereas the OP was specifically asking about G-SYNC vs. G-SYNC Ultimate, which both featured modules, and hence both have variable overdrive support.
