I really want the 1440p asus gsync monitor, but the price is a bit over my budget. I was wondering if anybody had some insight into the release date of the other gsync monitors and maybe knew what they would cost.
I'm currently interested in the benq XL2420G - assuming the price is reasonable.
Any news on the release dates for Gsync monitors?

Re: Any news on the release dates for Gsync monitors?
Ive been pretty obsessed with gsync and have been camping social sites and forums for any info regarding legit monitors with gsync. The prices are from appropriate companies comments or i couldnt find anything legit about pricing. Some prices might be outdated or will change after release.
Here is my list so far with the most accurate/legit/recent release times i could find:
- Since December there has been a modded monitor available:
- 24" 1080p 144hz from Asus @ 500$
It is an experimental product, meant for those who want to see how gsync works in person. The panel of it is the lowest possible quality on the market and will probably give headaches and damage eyes for most people.
- During July we should see proper/manufactured monitors such as:
- 24" 1080p 144hz from AOC @ 540$ (corrected, thx 2 mminedune)
- 27" 1440p 144hz from Asus @ 800$ (no changes afterall, thx 2 turboman750)
- 28" 2160p 60hz from Acer @ unknown
- Then later in September we should see:
- 24" 1080p 144hz from Benq @ unknown
- 27" 1080p 144hz from Benq @ unknown
- 27" 1080p 144hz from Viewsonic @ 650$
- All of these are TN panels. With the best being the first true 8 bit TN from Asus. Then Benq are second, as they are known to care about their customers and try to use quality TN`s and the Acer one should be on the same level as Benq at least, because the new 4k TN`s are known to be of higher quality than usual.
Have to info to speculate about for the rest.
- AMD recently showed a working IPS freesync monitor. But there is little known about freesync, except that real monitors with it will probably take 2 years to get to the market. So, i wouldnt even waste time thinking about it for a year or two at least.

Re: Any news on the release dates for Gsync monitors?
the 1440p asus dropped from 800 to 720? wow that's great news!
I would prioritize benq over all other monitors because I've seen their 144hz monitor and it's 10x better than asus' 144hz monitor.
But if the 8 bit 1440p Asus monitor is only 100-200$ more than the 1080p versions I may have to jump on that.
I've seen the AMD Freesync demo and as much as I would love to see an adaptive sync IPS panel, It most likely won't be capable of over 60hz without overclocking.

Re: Any news on the release dates for Gsync monitors?
I think it's still 799.
There's a recent video out on the monitor where the guy says 719. But it's difficult to make out with his accent, so I'm pretty sure it's 799.

It was a Benq rep on facebook who said a few times for both - that both of their monitors will be pushed back to September. The posts have moved on now and i am not a facebook user so i cant sign in to look at older posts, conversations or whatever.mminedune wrote:Edmond where are you getting this info from about benq mind posting link for proof.
But i can assure you that they said this many times. Despite the original release was meant to be Q1 as said @ CES2014.
Im sure you will find it @ Benq USA if you have a facebook account.
Im a nordic European myself, and i hear him saying 719, as do many other people in the comments. Also, he does seem to work for Asus, so if he decided to lie about that he can look for a new job.Turboman750 wrote:I think it's still 799.

Also, on
http://pcdiy.asus.com/2014/01/pg278q-ro ... g-monitor/
JJ said that they are not including the transmitter for 3D with the monitor to lower cost.
I have now two reasons to think that the cost is really reduced. I am usually aware of wishful thinking, but you never know.

Did he say $719 USD? That's even better that $799. I have a single EVGA GTX 780 SC ACX, and I'm planning on this monitor, or the older PB278Q. However, I would prefer a new model. If one 3GB 780 isn't enough, then I'll SLI in the future.
