I've searched for a solution for AOC monitors since they are all firmware locked, and i might be onto something.
There are AOC monitors with the same VA panel but one is sold as 165hz and one as 144hz. I was thinking about flashing the 165hz monitors firmware onto my 144hz monitor, since i couldn't find the 256 bytes EDID i decided to edit the current one.
I successfully edited the monitors firmware using some EDID editor freeware i found while digging through older threads. I bumped up the firmware limit from144hz to 240hz (so i can try going further than 165hz) and the pixel clock to 600mhz (i doubt i will need that much)
Now the only problem is flashing the firmware on the eeprom chip of the montior. It's write protected. Any idea on how to bypass that?
