Yamakasi catleap q270 <B> or ROG Swift?

Talk about overclocking displays at a higher refresh rate. This includes homebrew, 165Hz, QNIX, Catleap, Overlord Tempest, SEIKI displays, certain HDTVs, and other overclockable displays.

Yamakasi catleap q270 <B> or ROG Swift?

What would you do?

Yamakasi Catleap S270 <B> and overclock it to 120+ HZ for $350

or buy the ROG Swift once it's released (with 144hz + Gsync) for $850+

I've read information regarding the korean panels saying that it is not true 120 hz. My goal is to minimize/get rid of tearing at high resolutions. I've owned a korean panel before and I absolutely loved it, but when I would play games the tearing (at 60hz) was too much for me.

What is your opinion on the overclocked korean panels and tearing?

Tearing is significantly less distracting if you crank up the frame rate of the game and the refresh rate of the monitor.
Nevertheless it's still noticeable.
Given that you are sensible to it, the ROG SWIFT in G-sync mode looks like the obvious choice here.
G-sync gets rid of tearing completely.
Monitor: Gigabyte M27Q X
