Swap 20" ACD PCB?
Swap 20" ACD PCB?
My 20" 1680x1050 Apple Cinema Display only does 64Hz before blacking out... Is there any way to swap the PCB to allow for a better overclock?

Re: Swap 20" ACD PCB?
PCB replacements are not common on these Apple products - they are harder to hack than the average display. Displays such as the Overlord and QNIX displays are much more Overclockable, especially since they put less processing between the input and the display panel, so there are fewer over clocking weak links.rabidz7 wrote:My 20" 1680x1050 Apple Cinema Display only does 64Hz before blacking out... If buying a new screen for the higher refresh rate, and you need a CRT-motion-like experience, consider a strobed display (LightBoost, ULMB, BENQ Blur Reduction) as an additional benefit. LCD is terrible for motion blur otherwise.
If aiming for ultrahigh overclock rates like 120Hz+, even 240Hz, generic panels are more likely to work with custom PCB upgrades.
