Improving monitor clarity with modifications [Discussion]

Talk about overclocking displays at a higher refresh rate. This includes homebrew, 165Hz, QNIX, Catleap, Overlord Tempest, SEIKI displays, certain HDTVs, and other overclockable displays.

Improving monitor clarity with modifications [Discussion]

Now I don't know if this is the right place on the forum.
Since it involves modifying displays beyond their intended design with risk of damage, overclocking seem to fit that same description in a sense.

This will not apply to all monitors, just because a monitor has a matte finish does not mean the quality will be bad.
Basically this modification involves removing the matte/antiglare layer of a display to improve the display quality.
A guide can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydfQwttMKa8

Obviously researching if a monitor will benefit from this can be found in rtings or some other online source where users have modified their displays within reason and posted their outcomes.
In the example of rtings you can see here under reflections and text clarity:

Needless to say, anyone attempting this will need to control their room lighting to prevent glare from happening.
The benefits of this mod can improve motion clarity/blur reduction.

What are your thoughts?
Has anyone here done this kind of mod?

I saw a friend talk about it and thought i'd share it here. :)
