180 hz is equal to 5.5ms of screen persistence through sample and hold (persistence = 1000 divided by refresh rate, in milliseconds, assuming you can keep your framerate at that value).

Benq blur reduction (in combination with a VT 1500 tweak if you want to lower strobe crosstalk at 120hz) can have anywhere between 0.08 to 2.5ms of persistence from strobing (depending on service menu "Strobe Duty" value) without a VT tweak (stock 120hz) or 0.167ms to 5.01ms of persistence with a VT tweak (whenever a VT tweak is in use, the monitor reverts to 60hz persistence values for strobing, probably to ensure that it can strobe in sync with the current refresh rate. 60hz pulse widths start at the persistence value for 60hz (16.7 milliseconds) divided by 100 (= 0.167ms) for strobe duty 001, to 5ms (0.167ms x 30) for strobe duty 30.

In order to match the smoothness of benq blur reduction at 1.0ms persistence (strobe duty =006 with a VT tweak in use), you would need exactly 1000 hz refresh rate and 1000 fps via a sample and hold monitor. Your 180hz display would only get you to 5.5ms persistence.

You need to decide what you are looking for..a glass smooth image via strobing? or a high refresh rate?

I cannot reach higher than 188, and even that, is hard to achieve, very often for some reasons monitor goes out of reach
for now i'm keeping 168 but a bit disappointed if I cannot reach 192
I have nvidia video card
any suggestions ?
I have an OSD on mine (only control/brightness, some color stuff), only dvi + hdmi; monitor name in CRU is DPL7F2D

using same settings of your 200mhz custom detailed resolution but with 192 mhz or lower (back porch 4/9, and polarity -/-)

so maybe you got a lucky panel ? silicon lottery ? ^^

It's a lottery.
Some people of Qinx panel could overclock 2560x1440@120hz
Some could only reach 115hz
Some only 110.

When you exceed physical or electronic specificatins, how far you can go is not guaranteed.

I wouldn't have expected such a big difference, 180 to 240 ^^
at least i don't have the white effect with 180 ^^
Isn't there anything to play with as far as custom resolution permit ?
i'll try another power brick aswell

Simple and may be stupid question - Pixel Clock Patcher applied? Does Pixel Clock Patcher support your video drivers version?

2. Higher Refresh rates make the monitor go full white (it starts and in about 3s entire screen is pure white)
240Hz effect happened in under 3 minutes
200Hz effect happens very sparingly typically after 1+ hrs
a. Effect goes away upon turning the monitor off and on
180Hz Haven't seen the effect after 3+ hrs
b. Whiteout effect isn't related to temps (tried with a box fan next to the monitor at 220Hz which consistently whites out at around 10 minutes, also tried turning up the ambient temp by 4c didn't cause increase or decrease whiteout time)

Kinda curious if anyone can help with fixing the issues I had in 1. or if anyone has any recommendation at preventing the full screen whiteout at 200Hz or even 240Hz.

I confirm that is not temp related. I can play 1+ hour and then open some black filled picture and monitor goes white in 3-5 sec (tried 3 times in a row) and after that can play and have no white screen. Any ideas how powered off pixels (black) affect monitor going white?

don't worry it's not a stupid question;
pixel clock patcher applied yes, i had to add it because without it custom resolution above 160 weren't being added to windows

I tried a power brick 12v 6a but it didn't change anything, also tried different things like various dvi cable, the 2ports of my GPU... no difference, it's probably the limit of my panel

I don't feel like trying a 15v power adapter, i don't think my issue is related to power

I'm fine with 185hz, even if 192 would have been sweet spot and I hope more people try this monitor to see what it can do ! it's a great panel

I've missed that u have OSD. And seems like u have also not only DVI inputs. Author of thread have only DVI PCB and i have another model by X-star. So it's not an unlucky panel or silicon lottery. Just another model with another PCB (main board).

I have DVI and HDMI
yes it seems like there's a multiport and a singleport model with the same ref and not exactly the same panel :

I just had a look and I bought from the first link, it should be a DVI only model, i'll have to contact the seller I guess
