xb270hu overclockable to 180hz

Hello guys I managed to overclock my acer xb270hu to 180hz when running at either 800x600 or 1024x768. And I was wondering what causes this as these two resolutions are the only two resolutions where it is possible. I tested it for frame skipping with testufo and the results show it does not skip any frames and runs at 180hz. The osd also says it runs at 180hz so I assume it really runs at this frequency. I did not manage to game on this resolution yet as it is pretty buggy to enable it outside of the windows desktop but it definitely feels a little bit smoother there. Does anyone know if this is something that is causing the display driver to act differently on these two resolutions that allows the display to show them at these frequencies. Because if I go over 180hz at these resolutions my monitor does not show an image but it also does not go into sleep mode and will not show the typical "no signal" error. I am wondering if you could fool the driver into this mode to also enable this refresh rate at its native or at least a bit higher resolution so its actually useful.

I guess monitor itself acts this way. Not a driver.

You must fool monitor not driver.
