72hz/75hz or 76hz?

Talk about overclocking displays at a higher refresh rate. This includes homebrew, 165Hz, QNIX, Catleap, Overlord Tempest, SEIKI displays, certain HDTVs, and other overclockable displays.

72hz/75hz or 76hz?

Post by Oneofthe12s » 12 May 2018, 01:30

Hello,

I searched the 7 pages here so I hope I'm not re-posting this question.

I am unsure whether I should overclock to 72hz (multiple of 24), 75hz (common factory) or 76hz (multiple of 4)? My HP24w is pretty much topped out at 76 but I am not sure if the max is what to shoot for or if there is a consensus freq. that would make more sense.

Thank you

I'd go with two modes. 76 for games, and 72 for 24FPS movies. You just switch when you want to watch a movie. 48Hz would also work of course.

Having 50Hz (25FPS video), 60Hz (30FPS video), 72Hz (24FPS video) and 76Hz (games) allows you to switch to whatever suits you best.
