Benefit from 100hz to 103hz display overclock?

Talk about overclocking displays at a higher refresh rate. This includes homebrew, 165Hz, QNIX, Catleap, Overlord Tempest, SEIKI displays, certain HDTVs, and other overclockable displays.

Benefit from 100hz to 103hz display overclock?

Post by jprovido » 26 May 2018, 11:54

I just bought my ultrawide monitor a few days ago the Samsung 34" CF791 and stock refresh rate is 100hz. overclocked with NCP and found out I can overclock it to 103hz. is there any downsides with overclocking this display to 103hz? should I keep it at 100hz or 103hz? TIA!

Very little downside. Have you tried lowering your VT/HT to maybe get more of a OC?

Nice setup! Very questionable mousepad size

Indeed

Anyway, 100Hz is better suited for 25FPS and 50FPS video content (PAL video.) On the other hand, if it's a g-sync monitor, then 103Hz will allow you to set an FPS cap of 100FPS. This doesn't do anything special other than calming down my OCD about nice, round numbers...

Ditto, try reduced HT/VT even further to try maybe 105Hz or 106Hz.
Nice setup by the way!

(Lexlazootin, Seems mousepad size is okay -- looks big simply because the keyboard is small -- compact keyboard)

Na, it's not big enough!

"most" people play with a low sense and a big pad so they can fling their mouse around, got myself a pok3r just so i could use more room. :D

of course it doesn't really matter. I'm just being nit picky :)
