BenQ UNIVERSAL 144Hz->220Hz OVERCLOCK for 1080p 144 Hz

Talk about overclocking displays at a higher refresh rate. This includes homebrew, 165Hz, QNIX, Catleap, Overlord Tempest, SEIKI displays, certain HDTVs, and other overclockable displays.

Hi, I got a xl2411 T and I used the search tool to look for it but I cant find it anywhere in this thread. Would anyone know if its overclockable ? I cant seem to get the overclock to work at 165hz.
XL2411T is overclockable with the same technique, yes. Try it.

Go in 20Hz steps, then 10Hz steps then 5Hz steps. This is the binarysearch technique to quickly find your overclock limit.

Example: Start low 200Hz. Next, try 180Hz or 220Hz depending on if you succeed. Then do 10Hz jump. Then do 5Hz jump. Then ~2-3Hz jump. Then 1Hz jump. You've found your overclock limit.

Is there a way to get the original filmware / an old firmware on my monitor? I have the XL2411P and am currently running v9

Thanks a lot for the answer ! However, im unable to find the "Display application - 0xDC" in SoftMCCS does it appear only when. I also cant use SoftMCCS when the monitor is out of range because the application does not respond when i try to click on it. I tried to use OOB Buster but it doesnt seem to work as i still have the out of range notification on my monitor.

Try a SoftMCCS on a 2nd monitor and 0xCC on monitors without 0xDC.

So, hitting "activate 0xCC" and get the out of range notification to disapear, but my monitor stays on a black screen and goes back to 144hz after 10seconds or so. Any idea ? Even at 149hz i get the same results

Hello, i am here to tell you guys some things ive done with my XL2411P. (ALL DISPLAYPORT, RTX 2070. i dunno if the gpu changes shit because i dont know shit about cables and monitors BUT i am indeed a gamer.)

I cannot write essays so in short with my XL2411P i have gotten (no frameskip on any btw, tested with oneplus 5T camera with 1/10 andor ISO 100.)

1920x1080 @ 210hz with the total pixels front porch etc like in the post. side effects: (slight "waves" or smthn like that bullshit when looking at like chrome with long white empty space BUT when ingame (valorant deathmatch, practice range and comp) no discernible waves BUT my crosshair (which is a blue dot) gets an another red dot right next to it but its like 20% opacity and i see it if i get close and WANT to see it.

and this is the spicy part. I basically raised myself to want/NEED every competitive advantage i can get aaand that lead me to experiment with lower resolutions and higher refresh rates... which lead to 1280x768 @ 240hz.
1280x768 @ 240hz with CRU i have it set up like this=
Active:1280 pixels 768 lines
Front Porch: 24 pixels 3 lines
Sync width: 32 pixels 5 lines
Total: 1344 pixels 782 lines
refresh rate 240.000Hz
and yeah in csgo and valorant it works BUT= IT LOOKS LIKE ABSOLOUTE GARBAGE. THE PIXELS MOVE BY THEMSELVES, ITS BLURRY AS FUCK, IT LOOKS VERY VERY BAD.
but as i was raised with a shit pc and i always have had an compulse to do anything and everything to beat other gamers at games i dont mind how it looks.
no frameskip, testufo says 240hz and so on. (in valorant i can choose 1280 768@240hz and for csgo i put in steam launch commands: -refresh 240 -w 1280 -h 768 and when i do mat_info it says 1280x768@240hz and it feels so goddamn good i nut.) all fullscreen obv no bullshit windowed or whatever and also for my pc the OorBUSTER doesnt do work but the older OorFixer works like a charm idk why.
Windows version 20H2 btw and i wont put pictures here or shit im too lazy to log in with my phone and shit so naahh try it with your own risk as always etc etc. Specs:
i7 8700k hyperthreading on 4.8ghz at i dont remember what voltage
rtx 2070 not super, used the new one time click tuning from nvidia and it gives like +71 to +76mhz but my gpu is the MSI ARMOR OC version so its already a lil OC-d i think
16gb of 3200mhz ram
idk if specs matter but yeaheayeasyedasyeasyehasehashe

Thanks for your response! Can you look at what firmware your monitor is on? You can open the service menu with pressing the second button and then the last button to power up the monitor. Then press the 5th button to open the menu and look at the F/W Version.

Thanks for your report! Getting 240Hz out of a 144Hz panel is always a pleasant surprise, even if there are some issues.

So I manage to OC my XL2430T to 240hz @1024x768(my CS:GO res so is perfect because my PC is a potato for everything else), but my issue now is that color get some kind of compression (even if the nvidia control panel says that is 8bpc) and the monitor is ALOT brighter even with the Blur Reduction ON, gamma seems shifted to higher level, and I can't get it in Black bars which I'm used to. The only way to get in black bars is by using the monitor "Display Mode" to "Aspect" but if I put it with AMA High or Premium I got strange monitor artifacts (the top of the screen start to flickering) So I'd know if there at least a way to use it with black bars instead of stretched or a way to fix the colors without downclocking (My timings with CRU are this https://imgur.com/a/M6Dz1YV) for haveing trouble free with full screen applications I highly suggest to have set it as "Native resolution" by put the OC resolution on top of CRU Detailed resolutions. Plz help I almost beat the system xD

EDIT: I forget to mention that I know a way to have black bars but in order to do it I need to create a custom resolution on the nvidia control panel (https://i.imgur.com/a4KcOYw.png the monitor recognize 1366x768 even if pratically render it in 1024x768 and the scaling is done by the GPU insted of the screen so it looks fuzzy) the problem is that I can't use it with some full screen applications.

I overclocked my benq XL411P without using any of the programs like oorfixer/buster.

So after struggling with most of the methods, nothing worked for me.
But then i tried changing the launch options on steam, to see if my monitor would go out of range if i changed the refresh rate as a launch option on CS:GO, and I tested it with small overclocks, then I tried 165 hz, worked fine no out of range or anything, then i tried 170 hz, worked just fine. But then I tried 240 hz and it works just fine too, full colour no overshoot or ghosting or any problems whatsoever.

But since i play the game on a low resolution, that might be why i have no problems getting it to 240 hz flawlessly.

I cant overclock my desktop, but the refreshrate only matters to me ingame anyways.

here are my launch options, see for yourself if it works for you too.

-refresh 240 -high -fullscreen -w 1024 -h 768
