BenQ UNIVERSAL 144Hz->220Hz OVERCLOCK for 1080p 144 Hz

Talk about overclocking displays at a higher refresh rate. This includes homebrew, 165Hz, QNIX, Catleap, Overlord Tempest, SEIKI displays, certain HDTVs, and other overclockable displays.

Can someone explain why it doesn’t work kn my monitor? I have the XL2411P and it wont go over 150 hz with the OORBUSTER method. When I go over it shows a really artifacted image for half a second and then proceeds to show out of range. What am I doing wrong?
You might need to increase the timings via OOR Buster's launch params, by creating a shortcut. OOR Buster's README.

But for simple testing, it might be easier with Anti-Out of Range where you simply enter the number of seconds after which it will attempt to fix out of range.

I just downloaded the latest nvidia drivers 9/17/2020 and I couldn't go fullscreen with an overclocked refresh rate. Reinstalled back to old drivers and it works again. Beware of the new drivers guys.

Successful Universal 144Hz -> 220Hz Overclock For BenQ
For BenQ/ZOWIE 144Hz 1080P Monitors

200Hz+ Overclock Successes So Far
- XL2720Z at 220Hz
I tried to overclock XL2720Z even just a little and can't. I tried it on DVI-D dual-link on a 1080p resolution with these settings:
Image

So I press Ok in CRU, then run the restart64.exe to restart video adapter(I use R9 280x). At this point I have the OOR Buster running:
Image

Then I go to display settings and change the refresh rate:
Image

When I press Apply, my screen goes black, then the Out Of Range message appears for a split second and quickly disappears(I guess, because OOR Buster is running and does its thing). Then after Out of Range message I see black screen and nothing is happening. I'm running OOR Buster with default settings, it says on github these are the defaults: 2000 500 250 3000. After 15 seconds it cancels that video mode and gets back to 144 Hz and I get my screen back.

I chose 151 Hz because I checked what's the maximum throughput for Dual-link DVI-D and it said 330 Mhz, 151 Hz is below 330 Mhz, so I thought it would work.

Did I miss something, did I do something wrong? Or does it just not work on DVI on this monitor and I should get DisplayPort and try over 200 Hz right away?

I'll probably get DisplayPort cable tomorrow or a day after tomorrow and try it then.

Try increasing the timing of 2nd parameter to 1000 or 1500. Seems it successfully removes the OOR notification but fails to restore the picture mode, so it might need more delay for that.

Got it working at 210 Hz through DVI-D Dual-link Interface:
Image

Used ToastyX's AMD/ATI Pixel Clock Patcher. OorBuster.exe 2000 1500 250 3000:
Image

It frameskips at 205-209 and 211 Hz:
Image
Image

Made few tens of photos at 210 Hz to make sure it didn't frame skip, and it didn't.

Used 24, 3; 32, 5; 1984, 1094 values for all the refresh rates I tried:
Image

Tried refresh rate 212, it black screens without the out of range message, just black screen like the monitor is completely off. Then when I press escape, it gets back to the previous refresh rate.

Also tried 211.5 and 211.42 refresh rates. It goes out of range like usual, then black screen, then shows image for a split second and then black screens until it gets back to the previous refresh rate. Didn't try to figure out to what limit 211-211.42 I can maximally push, because it frameskips at 211 Hz anyway, so whatever. 210 Hz it is for now. DisplayPort tomorrow

Couldn't find a mini displayPort to displayPort in my town for now. Decided to try a smaller 1280x720 resolution on the XL2720Z I got on a DVI-D dual-link cable.

The maximum stable refresh rate I could get is 252 Hz:
Image
Image

The whole display starts to flicker starting at 253 Hz. It flickers up to 261 Hz including but still works:
Image

Then at 262 Hz it black-screens(without out of range message) and refuses to work.

Are there any ways to fix flicker at these refresh rates?

My XL2411P just wont get the out of range message away no matter what I do... Wtf am I doing wrong....

OORBUSTER does nothing. AntiOutOfRange does nothing. Bruh... Am I running the programs wrong? I just run them as the way i download them, as a .exe file. I use dp port btw

this is the best i can make it run, but timings are very low... When i increase them it doesnt work anymore and just showes out of range

It doesn't say in the readme, but Oorbuster actually registers a global hotkey: alt+home. It applies oor fix, then picture fix, then restores the AMA settings, like it is supposed to on alt-tab, but you do it manually. So you can try to press alt+home when you see the out of range message.

I use it when it fails to detect the mode change.
