Neat. 281 Hz is one of the highest refresh rate overclocks I've heard of a 144 Hz monitor that has a single image full screen with only minor glitches (missing vertical pixel rows, washed out colors) -- all the higher refresh rates (400-500Hz) are heavily glitched.

my BenQ xl2411p also stays black when try to go over 149hz . I m using DP and the DP cable that came with the monitor . Should I buy a new DP cable that has fast bandwith?

I only put OorBuster shortcut in windows 10 startup folder, and set custom resolution with NVCP, using dual link DVI cable, does it really mean these are legit 200hz? In csgo it looks smooth, but can't seem to get used to it, as i mostly played at 144hz. Monitor xl2430t, it goes to 210hz after few more tests

Frameskipping test passed

Also did Activate 0xDC thingy for 2 settings from the first post with softMCCS, I didn't need 2nd monitor at all, Out Of Range and black screen errors fixes itself after several restarts of Windows

hello dear blur busters community today i became aware of the forum on monitor overlocking and thought that i might make a contribution

I own a benq xl2420z monitor and would like to overclock it, but I just can't get it I read a few pages in the forum but I think I'm just too stupid for that so I would like a manual for the model I have from you guys here are some general information about my setup

Today got 8k 1.4 DPort cable, max oc 200hz so far, rest - black screening

Edit 2: 210hz stable as hell with few OoR notifications + 230 hz with cru, all screen blurry, still text readable, just edges around logos and text looking like bleeding or something

So i've got 3x XL2720z monitors in my setup, 2 of them are capable of 250hz at 1080p, but the third one i recently acquired.. is unable to show anything past 165hz.. any ideas why? it simply shows a black screen.

17k hours, V3 firmware, 250hz
3k hours, V7 firmware, 250hz
1.8k hours, v5 firmware, 165hz limit?

any ideas about this are welcome! thanks in advance

Got 205 HZ on my 2430T. But I got one question. Even though VALORANT tells me I am playing with 1920 x 1080 (144hz)
it says in Windows that my monitor is on 205hz. Does that still mean that it's 205hz even though it says 144hz in Video settings?

cru 1.51 , gave 240hz for me, ran quake live @ 240 1920x1080 too (/r_displayrefresh 240 in '~' console), afraid to run cs:Go, it black screens @ 210< from time to time

-refresh 240, or -freq 240. and voila csgo works at 1920x1080@240hz! played 1 short match solo queue against global elites, we won, was smooth 240fps, dunno, i Iiked it, don't feel it made me god or something, but i had my moments there.

I also used nvidia pixel patcher.exe or something, it patched something, dunno maybe it helped cru to push pixels

You probably switched to 4:2:2 chroma mode. Red text and blue text on black backgrounds will look very pixelated in half-resolution chroma this way. Your horizontal color resolution is halved because your GPU is trying to make room for extra refresh rate.

This isn't a problem for games like CS:GO but is a problem for dark mode Windows Desktop with colored text.

It's a limitation, although in theory you could try to force 4:4:4 chroma operation by reducing the resolution to free up enough bandwidth for full-resolution color.

Another method is to force fewer bits per color such as 6bpc (6-bit operation) to try to get 4:4:4 back. But sometimes overclocking these 10-year-old panels requires you to reduce BOTH color depth and chroma in order to free up enough cable bandwidth to get these necessary overclocked refresh rates. Concurrently using 6bpc with 4:2:2 was the method that enabled those occasional incredible 240-270Hz overclocks on these trusty old BenQ's. Most only go 200-220 but some specimens have gone astoundingly almost double original Hz.

Convenience Tip: Resolutions With Only One Refresh Rate
You can simply use 144Hz for desktop and 240Hz for games. If this is too inconvenient, try a slightly different resolution like 1920x1078 for one refresh rate and 1920x1079 for the other refresh rate. Delete all refresh rates except for the desired refresh rate for each resolution. Basically 1920x1078 could be your 144Hz-only mode (no 60Hz, no 240Hz) and 1920x1079 could be your 240Hz-only mode (no 60Hz, no 144Hz). Then you don't need any software to switch refresh rates, and you can even skip those command line options for many games. Just change the game menu to the specific resolution and you automatically have the only refresh rate that specific resolution supports. Make sure GPU scaling and monitor scaling is disabled! You can keep 1920x1080 unmodified 144Hz and simply use 1920x1080 for all your factory modes and Windows desktop, with 1920x1079 for your overclocked 240Hz mode.
