Monitor OC not sticking in game (1600x900 @200Hz)

Hello,

I made a successful OC 144Hz to 200hHz but as soon as I get in game and click anywhere it will automatically alt+tab and revert back to 144Hz.

Here are some more Info: I made 2 resolution one for 1600x900 and one for 1920x1080.
The 1920x1080 @200Hz works perfectly by setting the Nvidia Scaling to Aspect Ratio instead of Fullscreen but..
I want to play this game(VALORANT) in 1600x900 @200Hz and it only worked in Interger Scaling or No Scaling resulting in a black bar non Fullscreen game which I do not want, If I set it to FullScreen or Aspect Ratio the game start just fine but as soon as I click any where the game will alt+tab and revert back to 144Hz even though I had 1600x900 @200Hz in Windows, Is there a way to prevent that alt+tab in Fullscreen or Aspect Ratio?

Thank you, Have a nice day

Try creating the mode in ToastyX Custom Resolution Utility, instead of via NVIDIA Control Panel

Also, some games have a refresh rate option. There's a command line option for CS:GO to force a refresh rate.

Hello,

I tried CRU already and I got the same result, the game VALORANT doesn't have refresh rate option like CS:GO.
It seems to be related to the NVIDIA scaling since I can get it to work in 1600x900@200Hz in Interger Scaling or No scaling but the game is black bar non Fullscreen and in 1920x1080@200Hz works just fine with Aspect Ratio Scaling,no issue at all.

I made a custom resolution 1600x900@200Hz which I use in Windows and I have the game resolution pre-set to 1600x900 the game load fine but if I click anywhere it will alt+tab and revert back to 144hz like my Windows resolution isn't the same as my in game.

Maybe I need to set something differently in the 1600x900 Custom Resolution? I have the same exact settings as the 1920x1080 but the top resolution here is a ss, also my monitor is XL2411P if that help.

Thank you, Have a nice day

With Unreal engine games you need to make the game "believe" that your screen is whatever resolution / refresh rate you want as default resolution.

So when you go into the display settings (in windows) and choose youre resolution /refresh rate the one with the (recommended) written at the side of it needs to be (for you) 1600x900 at 200 hz so the drop down menu will look a bit like this :

1920 x 1080
1600 x 900 (Recommended)
1280 x 720
etc.etc

To do this you need to use CRU Put in your required resolution and refresh rate into the "Detailed Resolutions" box and MAKE SURE its the FIRST resolution in the list, that part is the key to making windows "think" its your monitors default Res/Refresh rate.
