XL2411Z OC not working on Valorant?

Talk about overclocking displays at a higher refresh rate. This includes homebrew, 165Hz, QNIX, Catleap, Overlord Tempest, SEIKI displays, certain HDTVs, and other overclockable displays.

XL2411Z OC not working on Valorant?

Post by lolface992 » 30 Jun 2021, 06:09

Hello everyone. Recently I overclocked my Benq XL2411Z to 240hz. I play at resolution 1280x1024. Everything in CS is working pretty well. Only in Valorant there is no option to switch to my 200hz. Any suggestion to make Valorant run game at 200hz?
Excuse me for bad english, I'm not native speaker. Thank You.

Try disabling fullscreen optimizations in the properties of the valorant exe ("compatibility" tab), and then in the nvidia panel's 3D properties section, set "preferred refresh rate" to "highest available".

You need to run the game in fullscreen mode for this work.

(The reason you need to disable fullscreen optimizations first is that the "preferred refresh rate" nvidia option does not work when FSO is enabled.)

I've tried this today. Everytime I tab in it changes to the normal resolution that has 144hz. Even though I have tried as instructed.

Answer kinda late but maybe someone has the same problem. Here is the fix.

You have to get the "Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)" tool and delete all native resolutions. Then create couple resolutions with your overclocked hz settings. Then activate Auto-Start for OorBuster.exe or open it from a second monitor. Use the restart64.exe or restart your pc. After that your Valorant will run with your overclocked hz.

Yes.

The other trick is to create a 1920x1079 or a 1918x1080 resolution with only one refresh rate.

Make sure to disable scaling on both the monitor side and GPU side, so it is 1:1 pixel mapped, with no blurry text.

Whenever you configure the game to use that oddball resolution, it is forced to use the only refresh rate available.

This can be useful for people who wish to keep 1920x1080 with factory stock refresh rates.

In all situations, you can use ToastyX reset-all.exe to restore all deleted refresh rates, as well as delete all added custom modes.
