[FIX] Alienware AW2518HF frameskipping/ghosting fix (and possibly all the other AW2XXX series such as the AW2521HF)

Found some interesting finds using the service menu and trying out HDMI vs DisplayPort. When using DisplayPort, the EDID CEA 861 extension states +/- polarities meanwhile on the service menu it shows that the polarities actually being used are -/-. When using HDMI, the service menu shows +/-. Polarities affect when the monitor sync frames.

I have tried the settings on the original post and this has fixed the blue ghosting I'm getting on bright backgrounds.
Do these settings effect the response times on the monitor ?

6 bpc color depth has an effect for AW3418HW.

Hi I'm new here. I was wondering if these settings help reduce ghosting/blur whilst not using Gsync. I have near no ghosting/artifacts whilst using Gsync but I would like to turn GSync off and use either Superfast or Extreme on my 2521hf. Currently The ghosting bothers me a ton when playing aimlabs or valorant without GSync. Do these settings require gsync?
I know this thread is kinda old, thanks for taking the time to read my message

Hey i have the same monitor as you and suffer from terrible ghosting, was wondering if you managed to find settings that fixed it for you. Thanks in advance.Katscratch wrote: ↑03 Sep 2024, 13:24Hi I'm new here. I was wondering if these settings help reduce ghosting/blur whilst not using Gsync.
