News on the ROG Swift (PG278Q)

Talk about NVIDIA G-SYNC, a variable refresh rate (VRR) technology. G-SYNC eliminates stutters, tearing, and reduces input lag. List of G-SYNC Monitors.

I can honestly say that i do not see much of a difference in picture quality between my old BenQ XL2420T (rev 2.0) and the ROG Swift. Yes, there is a bump in resolution (1080->1440) and the things that go along with it, but the improvement isn't that big as someone could think. Don't get me wrong, it looks great, but it is definelty not a game changer.

* Very fast and responsive OSD = GREAT !
* Refresh rate change when needed is ultra fast = GREAT !, it is much much faster than on my BenQ XL2420T (rev 2.0)
* Extremely fast on/off functionality = LOVE IT !

My monitor arrived "pixel perfect", but with slight backlight bleed, 2 small spots that are visible at certain scenarios and can be slightly bothersome, but still i decided to keep it (i know i will get used to it). Inversion Unifromity Test looks much better than with my old BenQ.

This sucks, I just got the green-light from the wife and I was going to get this monitor today. But after reading so many negative comments here, there and everywhere I think its best to let g-sync mature some more. Hopefully there will be a flood of these coming in the next 60 days. Does anyone know if that is the case?

Where are the RoGs? I seen a couple on Amazon for 3rd party for over a $1,000 and one was used.

Any news on when they'll be releasing again?

Or are they working out some kinks first as I've been reading there are a lot of issues with these dying early and lots of dead pixels.

More keep coming in but they sell almost instantly. I think the problems are exaggerated quite a bit. I have only heard of a few people with dead pixels.

I picked up the last one the first day a local store got them. It has no dead pixels or any other problems.

Just to confirm, G-Sync, 144hz, and 1440p is achievable, correct? I have no desire for 3D but want to make sure I understood this limitation correctly. I would like to have all 3 of the above features active at once.

What you cannot have is 1440p, 144Hz and ULMB all at once. ULMB is limited to 120Hz

Is ULMB the Lightboost tech? I toyed around with that on my ASUS 144hz about 6 months ago and recall a similar limitation.

Thanks for the info!
