Wait wtf ?
ONLY 40% of refresh compliance ?! what a joke...
About UFO and Frog test, looks good but what about the true feeling and experience...
What about playing games like Apex Legends which are limited at 300fps ? :/

Sounds interesting !
What about coating and brightness ?
It is sharp enough to not vomit ?
Sorry haven't checked these forums lately.
Coating is pretty thick but if you don't focus on it, it's fine. If you 'look' for it, then you may be like 'wtf is this grainy shit on my screen'. I think it's fine, doesn't bother me.
It is super bright. For me even a bit too bright.
It is sharp, clarity is fine. Acer does have a super sharpness mode but it is garbage, it seems to add black outlines to objects with some sort of hardware aliasing.

On those pictures / refresh compliance pictures that were posted - those numbers seem really trash? especially compared to results from other 540hz panels. It definitely doesn't have 5ms+ response for moving to 255. And non of the froggy / motion pictures are using VRB? so not sure what we are supposed to draw from that, since the whole point of these TN panels is that they work great with strobing.
Anyway I am very happy with this, even months on. It is a no brainer to get this panel at this price vs the alternatives if you are into your fast paced fps games.

Hi!

Could you please help me with my decision to purchase this beast. I have a few concerns, but could not find much info.
I play a very fast paced shooter and I think 480/500/540 hz strobing would benefit me more. Ik about 480 oleds and I've seen the new 480 hz 32' lg monitor.

Those who own this acer monitor can you please tell me:

If it strobes properly on 500/480/360/240 hz?
Does lowering refresh rate improve clarity?

What if my fps drops sometimes, depending on maps, e.g. down to 420.. Does it create significant image doubling/visual difficulties?

Thank you very much!

Yes it strobes properly at lower refresh rates, it appears Ok. I wouldn't say it improves clarity, however I also haven't tried lowering the hz while increasing the blanking space with cru which might yield better clarity overall. In general this monitor looks good in bottom 2/3rds of screen, top 1/3rd has crosstalk.
I run with VRB enabled and at 540hz all the time, no matter what game I play. Even if I am playing more graphically intense games and only getting 100fps. I don't notice any bad side effects from this.

Are there any other OSRTT tests with differnt OD modes / ultra low latency settings? I would like to know how much OD modes are there and whether you can set custom OD values

Hey!

You might already figured it out, but I play at the exact same resolution in cs2 and had the same problem. So for some reason you can create the custom resolution at 360 hz and then edit it for 540 in Control panel if you use Nvidia card.

No problem and works as intended. Dont know why you can't create at 540 directly tho, but thjis is a workaround.

Just received the XV242F today. I have also used the Asus PG248QP for a month or so, but sold it because I did not think it was worth €620.
I have been using the AOC AG273QZ for a couple of years now, but 27" is not ideal, and the panel has several defects (visible vertical lines when motion is displayed, weird stutters).

First impression of the Acer: very smooth, no perceivable input lag, menu is quick to navigate, tons of settings. No high pitch sound when running the monitor at 360hz+, which the Asus PG248QP did have, which was very annoying. I had my desktop on 240hz to avoid the high pitch, and while gaming I used a headset. The Acer does not have this issue, except when I turm VRB on. At "normal" the pitch is quite low volume, on "extreme" it is very noticable without a headset. However, while playing CS2 it doesn't bother me.

UFO test: looks good, don't think my 30 year old eyes could notice the difference between this and a slightly faster response time.

Bought the monitor for €310 new in box in the Netherlands. Absolute steal if you'd ask me. The 600hz monitors are coming soon, and the Acer one is supposed to cost €850. That was the main reason for me to buy the XV242F now.

I also thought about an oled monitor, but I really prefer 24" monitors for gaming. Much less eye-strain and just a better "feel" for the game.
If you guys have any questions let me know. I could not find a lot of info on this monitor, so I am happy to help you guys out.

Hi! Are sides darker like on x+ zowie monitor?
Is image sharp on low resolution like 1280x960?
Super sharpness is that bad?
Is response time slow?
Everyone saidn248qp is netter than 86x. Is any difference between 248qp and this at motion clarity?

Sides don't look darker to me.
I am playing CS2 on 1280x960 without AA, plays fine. Not as sharp as native, but normal for the res I guess.
I don't like the super sharpness setting, not using it.
Response times are fine.
I can't compare it with the PG248QP because I sold it. Maybe with ULMB slightly better, but not worth double the money.
