Yes dldsr is available in the 500hz ediddontpokethebear wrote: ↑30 Aug 2024, 17:29Can you confirm that DLDSR is available for you in the NVIDIA control panel options when doing this? I am getting a new HDMI cable tomorrow to try exactly this on my new 2586x. I think DLDSR might be more performant and effective in CS2 than 8x MSAA which I currently use.

Re: New Zowie Monitor 540Hz XL2586X
Nice, thanks! Unfortunately, I'm running in a dual monitor setup and I'm using my 2586x as a specified e-sports/high speed monitor alongside a 4k OLED that requires DSC. Even when I select "display on monitor 2 only" Windows technically still sees the blank monitor as "active", which means that DSC is enabled on my GPU even if the 500hz EDID doesn't require it. If I physically unplug my displayport cable from the GPU and leave only the HDMI 2.1 then I can enable DSR factors in the Nvidia control panel, but only if it's the only monitor plugged in.daviddave1 wrote: ↑31 Aug 2024, 15:40Yes dldsr is available in the 500hz ediddontpokethebear wrote: ↑30 Aug 2024, 17:29Can you confirm that DLDSR is available for you in the NVIDIA control panel options when doing this? I might need to get an external HDMI 2.1 switcher...

Yes from my understanding also dual outputs requires more bandwithdontpokethebear wrote: ↑31 Aug 2024, 18:00Nice, thanks! Hi thanks for answering this question. I am also in the same boat.daviddave1 wrote: ↑11 Aug 2024, 16:59OLED is blurry compared to a backlightstrobed tn panel. Sure OLED looks very submerging and takes you to a other place. But what use is submersion if your vision is a bit blurry when u track a enemy? You have to ask yourself what in videogames is getting you a rush; submersion in the game itself or submersion in the dopamine of getting a frag and winning the game? If it's the latter get the xl2586x. The xl2586x is insane. Makes you feel like a bloodhound that sniffs out Everything
I have the 27Q1RX 360hz OLED, but I have been contemplating switching to the 540hz Zowie in my belief it will offer me a more competitive edge in PUBG.
What about the newly released 480Hz 27" ASUS Oled?
Should I get that, would it be even better than the Zowie 540Hz on a competitive aspect?
Re: New Zowie Monitor 540Hz XL2586X
It will not offer you a competitive advantage, rather a disadvantage.Grasshopper85 wrote: ↑21 Sep 2024, 11:49Hi thanks for answering this question. I am also in the same boat.

The sub 1ms G2G response times, higher PPI and substantially better contrast on OLED clears any LCD on the market.
If looking for sample & hold clarity, OLED is the way forward.
TN's (in particular, XL2566K & AUO E-TN's) struggle past 300hz. IPS and VA struggle past 200hz even.
If you're adamant on upgrading, consider the PG27AQDP instead of 540hz LCD's.
Keep in mind that 480hz's full potential can be achieved only when running 480fps @ 480hz (best smoothness, best clarity, lowest latency)
Don't let this deter you from getting a OLED though.
You can also make a CRU/NVCP resolution with no-scaling applied to make the image physically smaller - emulating a 24.5" display
For example: 2340x1316 @ 360hz or 480hz (should be ~24.5")
However, I'd stick to your current monitor and upgrade once DP2.1 GPU's and monitors which have a the newer port arrive, to avoid DSC alt-tab bug that's plaguing current generation of monitors & general DSC downsides that come with compression technologies.
DP2.1 will allow for a theoretical resolution (without DSC) of
25601440p @ 840hz @ 8bit
2560x1440 @ 670hz @ 10bit
360hz to 480hz upgrade might not be noticable in games for many, especially with the higher fps demand.
On desktop, it should be pretty apparent.

The 480hz Asus 1440p is more blurry then the xl2586x thats just how it is..Grasshopper85 wrote: ↑21 Sep 2024, 11:49Hi thanks for answering this question. The xl2586x also has very good colors for a tn panel, gets very bright with Dyac2, sharpener and black equalizer is very good; It all just works extremely well to create a contrast between the enemy and its surroundings.
Plus you can adjust every single color there is.
Example: You know the ultimate of Pathfinder from Apex Legends where everything becomes black and white except the enemy; they become red so you can spot them extremely well? You can literally do that with this monitor in games where the enemies are a single color. If the enemies colors are diverse like in Pubg they still pop if you crank the colors etc. ( see tgtln settings of his zowie monitor)
This monitor is made to create a CONTRAST between the enemy and it's surroundings as fast as possible. THATS IT. Every single option this monitor has is made with that purpose in mind.
OLED is made to get a beautiful experience that has fast responsetimes. But what use is that if the enemy can hide in its surroundings including its own blurriness?
Battleroyal games like Pubg are about visibility first.
The only monitor that's maybe worth getting over the xl2586x for competitive purpose is the pg27aqnr; the first monitor with G-SYNC Pulsar tech. But it's not out yet.
EDIT:
If you would ask the Zowie monitor: " Would u make the image unrealistic, cartoony, weird or just straight up ugly if you could make more contrast between the enemy and its surroundings? " The answer would be : "Yes withouth a doubt." ( keep in mind the xl2586x has a very nice image for a tn. unprecedented)
The answer of the OLED would be: "Uhm im a OLED im here to make the game look like the maker indented it to be with very fast response times, so: No, not really"

hi, Have you noticed small shiny crystals on the coating of the XL2586X like on the Asus and Acer eTN monitor ?daviddave1 wrote: ↑22 Sep 2024, 03:35

your answer is rather surprising, are you sure you are really objective in your remarks? I owned the asus and I was bothered by these multiple shiny points which were distracting and quite unpleasant, several users have testified to this coating problem on asus and acer, I would have liked to know if the cause of these shiny artifacts is the eTN technology or simply the coating but you seem not to see this defect which was clearly visible on the asus

Unfortunately I don't know what u mean. I just checked the PG248QP topic here where its not a complaint that is mentioned aloth. I did not see it any review also.kameCS wrote: ↑22 Sep 2024, 14:58your answer is rather surprising, are you sure you are really objective in your remarks? Only thing I can say is that it's a tn panel that has certain viewing angles. But that's normal for tn.
