Re: Input lag or something else?
I've thought about that too, I've been having this issue since I got this new PC, but it was around the time OW2 came out, so a very long time ago, I can count on both hands the times its worked "perfectly", and when it does, its very very nice, I've put it down to a lot of things, It could be a PC issue, or it could just me, but some days after months of changing bios settings etc, it'll run perfectly, and the difference in feeling and playing is night and day, even visibility I get when flicking is better, and less blurred, its very hard for me to explain the difference even, because I don't quite understand it myself.

Re: Input lag or something else?
I have the same issue on Xbox. My phone is even affected from this shit. My phone is delayed as fuck. I cant type fast like i use to, and I cant flick fast onto people anymore, everything is sluggish and shittySynnx90 wrote: ↑29 Jul 2024, 03:29Yes, my old was PC 9700k/10700k and a 2080 with maximus VIII hero, I don't remember ever having issues as bad as this where I thought to myself that the games are completely unplayable, The problem is it changes from day to day depending on settings, sometimes its super blurry, sometimes it like my sensitivity has halfed, And I always have the slight shot delay even though it sometimes looks instant, and I can never get it feeling good or how it should be/was, (super snappy and instant/fluid), And the only setting I have different now is low latency mode off, because it doesn't work too well with OW2, on OW1 it was fine, but ive experimented with it on/off and theres no change, even something as simple as a different power plan changes the speed of my sensitivity.
This is another video for reference, my ingame settings remains the same as last video, but this time (ecores/ht off, threaded optimization auto, ultimate powerplan), ignore my awful aim, I haven't been able to play well/consistent for a veryyy long time, the shots do look instant, but they are in fact not, could be because its recorded at 60fps, and im on 240hz, I might try windows 10 again some time and see if that fixes anything.

Re: Input lag or something else?
I tried 125hz on my mouse instead of 1000hz, and the crosshair feels much lighter, snappier, and movement is quicker, feels really close to how it is when its "good", and not heavy/floaty, frames dragged out etc.
the only issue is the image is jittery/blurry when I shoot.
Does anyone know why this is or what may be causing it?
Thank you.

Does it feel the same on 1000hz? 125hz being jittery sounds reasonable.Synnx90 wrote: ↑07 Nov 2024, 03:19I tried 125hz on my mouse instead of 1000hz, and the crosshair feels much lighter, snappier, and movement is quicker, feels really close to how it is when its "good", and not heavy/floaty, frames dragged out etc.

Re: Input lag or something else?
No, 1000hz gives me the heavy/floaty mouse feeling, snappy movements are possible, but its not instant as im use too previously, which ive been experiencing for a long time now, feels like frames are dragged out when im flicking/turning if you know what I mean.
125hz, the crosshair feels like its very light, moving as it should, and it is very snappy, just awful blurriness/jittering/image vibration when shooting, I'm playing at 240hz on an OLED monitor, so I understand why.
I'm more wondering if anyone knows what could be causing the difference, not the blurriness/jittering when shooting

Re: Input lag or something else?
The reason 125Hz is better is that it uses the processor less frequently, with fewer interruptions or other demands. However, on a 144Hz or 240Hz (or higher) monitor, playing with a 125Hz mouse is nearly impossible it feels very choppy and challenging to control.

If u want less floaty mouse, and good image, USE 250HZ!!!

I'm not struggling to control it, its moving similar to how how 1000hz use to move for me on old pc, on windows 10, or how it moves once every few weeks.

Re: Input lag or something else?
[UPDATE] uninstalling the Realtek driver using DDU helped immediately! Can't say it's perfect and I think the driver reinstalled itself automatically maybe overnight, but it's actually crazy how much better my hitreg is. Not as good as it CAN be, but I'll take it.
I have had this exact same issue for many years now...like 7+.
I have thrown everything I can at it, including 540hz lcd, 480hz oled, 5070ti, 5090 laptop gpu, 9800x3d processor.
countless tweaks in bios, etc.
The most common fix that I've had many times is.............a new monitor and it feels fantastic for a few hours.......that day. And then it goes to shit again. I've tried really good Zowie 240hz / 360hz / Asus 240-480hz / oled. All of them felt GREAT immediately. I could SEE and AIM and hit almost every easy shot and some hard shots (even predicting sombras after they disappear). but a day or two later it goes back to not being able to even see/aim steadily for even barely moving targets. It's absolutely dumb. Even when I am places where I have 19 ping it doesn't help much.
Another fix (it helps) is often when I turn the limit client send rate to ON. For whatever reason that helps sometimes but doesn't really fix the disconnected/desync feel. My hitreg does seem to go up a bit though. Back in the day, switching to windowed mode helped but we are talking about the first two years of OW when the game felt good still and SIM spikes would slowly start creeping in within 15 minutes of a game, so even restarting the game was a viable fix.
