Hope Im posting in the right area..
I have a BenQ XL2546k. I have no issues using blur busters prior. I recently updated my drivers, and now in device manager it says "Generic Monitor (ZOWIE XL LCD). I've looked through these forums, could the name be the issue on why it's not detecting my monitor anymore? My issue is
"Unable to initialize DDC/CI for this monitor. Click for more info."
I've reset my monitor
I've uninstalled the driver and rebooted
My OSD works
My DDC/CI is on, and I have turned it OFF & ON.
I've unplugged and re-plugged my monitor in.
I've ran as Administrator
I desperately want to fix this. I thought updated drivers would be beneficial but now its set me back. My monitor looks different since I can no longer utilize my blur buster settings.
Please, any help would be so greatly appreciated. I have searched previous forums and I have found maybe 1 or 2 similar issues and no clear fix.

Re: ERROR: initialize DDC/CI
I have moved your post to the BenQ-related area for Strobe Utility, for Strobe Utility questions.
Board Index -> BENQ Zowie Tweaking — Strobe Utility / Blur Reduction / DyAc
Blur Busters = Name of business
Strobe Utility = The software you are using
Test UFO = a different product
Try:
- Temporarily turn off display mirroring (breaks DDC)
- Try different port on your GPU
- Try different port on your monitor
This is usually a GPU or graphics driver problem;
Strobe Utility had much bigger upgrades for older BenQ monitors, so the big improvements by DyAc+ (the + version) and higher refresh rates, also renders Strobe Utility less useful except for lower Hz (e.g. 120fps 120Hz) or for retro purposes (e.g. using 120Hz DyAc + DesktopBFI with emulators for 60Hz DyAc) and/or calibrating the position of least strobe latency for your DyAc+

Thank you, I did attempt what you told me including uninstalling and reinstalling GPU drivers. To no avail... I wish I was on DyAc+.Chief Blur Buster wrote: ↑03 Dec 2024, 16:47I have moved your post to the BenQ-related area for Strobe Utility, for Strobe Utility questions.

It was working fine until I did stuff with my monitor drivers. And now I cant revert back.

Try a complete uninstall of the monitor drivers too.bucketscsgo wrote: ↑03 Dec 2024, 18:39Thank you, I did attempt what you told me including uninstalling and reinstalling GPU drivers. To no avail... I wish I was on DyAc+.

The control signalling is done via DDC/CI, via extensions to VESA Monitor Command Control Set (MCCS) 2.2 in the register extensions area 0xE0 thru 0xFF. If utilities such as Entech Taiwan's softmccs doesn't work, then you won't be able to adjust your monitor.
- If you moved the cable (different port on GPU or different port on monitor). Try a different port.
- If you turned off the DDC/CI option in the monitor menus, then you can have problems. Try toggling the setting.
- Also some cheap HDMI cables might be missing the DDC/CI wire, if you had swapped cables. Try a different cable.
- Also, some adaptors (HDMI-to-DP) filters out these control signals.
- Try factory reset your monitor firmware. Don't forget to write down your custom monitor settings so you can put them back where they were after! (e.g. contrast, color settings, esports settings, etc)
May you at least make sure DDC/CI is enabled in the monitor menus?
A factory reset of your monitor can also disable this setting, but a factory reset can also fix some corruption that made DDC/CI stop working, as long as you disable/reenable the DDC/CI setting in the monitor menus.

Re: ERROR: initialize DDC/CI
Thank you. I actually realized I had a recent restore point and restored from a week prior to messing with monitor drivers. It works again.
