Benq xl2430T
Re: Benq xl2430T
sorry it was a question (not a assertion).
and yes the app claims "100Hz or more"
but there is some way to override ?

Re: Benq xl2430T
I too have been doing a lot of reading on Blur Busters regarding the XL2420T, and was just about to head out and buy one until I noticed the XL2430T.
I'm going to hold off buying until Blur Busters can confirm if the XL2430T is capable of the Motion Blur for <100Hz as I am mainly looking at using the monitor for console gaming.
PS. Blur Busters is the most informative, useful website on the internet regarding gaming monitors and motion blur. Thank you & keep up the great work, cheers!

Re: Benq xl2430T
Does anyone have additional information on the new BenQ Blur Reduction found in the XL2430T? I see that Chief posted in mid-September that a new version of Strobe Utility would be released soon to support the XL2430T, but I don't think I've seen anything posted on the issue since then. Does the new BenQ Blur Reduction make the Strobe Utility obsolete? If not, is there an ETA on when the new version of the Strobe Utility will be released? I am not sure which one to choose between the XL2430T and the XL2420Z, and I want to maximize blur reduction, so this is important to my choice
Thanks a lot!
Re: Benq xl2430T
I've had XL2430T for a while. The Blur Reduction settings there have more options than just ON/OFF; not sure what the options actually did, seemed to have different effects than the option in the BlurBuster's utility.
However, to my big surprise, the monitor didn't support nVidia 3D Vision (my fault, should've checked that, still don't get why a true 144Hz monitor wouldn't support that). So I've returned it and got XL2420Z instead. No regrets.

Re: Benq xl2430T
Thanks for the feedback! Did you notice any difference in efficiency in the blur reduction between the XL2430T and the XL2420Z with BB's strobe utility?
Re: Benq xl2430T
Nothing I could identify without having them next to each other side by side.

Re: Benq xl2430T
I guess the test was to use testUFO/alien invasion (moving pictures) test and check for ghosting/corona/inverse ghosting artifacts.
Did you notice if the 2430T had fewer (ghosting) artifacts than the 2420Z?
Did the 2430T need the VT 1500 or VT 1350 vertical total tweaks to lower the size of the thick crosstalk strobe band?

Re: Benq xl2430T
I did run the UFO tests on both monitors, but since 2430T was my first 120Hz+ monitor I didn't know what exactly to look for and what to expect.
Saying that, ghosting was hardly noticeable for me on 2430T. (Note that their built-in anti-blur strongly reduces the apparent brightness when you increase the intensity of the effect in their OSD, very similar to the Lightstrobe Utility's effect on 2420Z.)
Haven't tried the 1500 / 1350 trick. And haven't noticed the thick crosstalk strobe band on 2430T (wasn't looking for it either; I assume that's what you can easily see in the Alien Invasion test - the shadow that's uneven across the height of the display).
Sorry that I can't be of too much help here, I had to rush with returning the monitor if I wanted to return it using not-fit-for-purpose argument.

Re: Benq xl2430T
Hmm chief really needs to review one of these.
If you didn't notice the band (you can see it on the blur busters screenshots on the main page and in the older threads on the Benq section, discussing V1 and V2 firmware--which is how the VT tweaks got into discussion), then maybe Benq did some things with the scanout and made it more ilke lightboost's accelerated scanout. Maybe I'll pick up a 2430T in the future and try it out, but I hate to spend money when I already have a 2720Z with no dead pixels or backlight bleed...

Re: Benq xl2430T
Thanks for your help Pyta. I am going to make a purchase in the next few days, and I'm still hesitating between the XL2420Z and the XL2430T... Do you have any additional information on the subject, Chief Blur Busters? Any advice between the two?
