Audio and Video Out of Sync
Audio and Video Out of Sync
Hi, I've been dealing with this issue. While watching some videos, I realized there’s a desynchronization between the video and audio. Basically, after watching several audio and video sync test videos, I noticed that at 0.25x playback speed, the sound arrives before the image. If I get nitpicky, I’d say there’s around -100 ms delay (based on the video that shows that scale).
Is anyone else experiencing the same?
For context, I’m using USB wired headphones (I also tested with a jack port, and it’s the same), with regular Realtek drivers.
Obviously, fixing this is meant to fight against desynchronization in games. Now, I clearly know that this might not entirely fix the issue, but maybe it could improve it a little. According to Google, 100 ms is 0.1 seconds, and this kind of delay could put you at a massive disadvantage in any shooter game.
So my questions are: is it the image that’s lagging? Is it the audio? I’m asking here because this might be the only place where people know about this stuff

You don't notice this problem on your TV or smartphone? You need to be absolutely sure that the problem is in your PC.
Re: Audio and Video Out of Sync
Well, that's the curious part. I tested it from my phone, and I don't have any problems, but according to what I read, it's because YouTube forces no desynchronization on Android (I'm not sure if that's true).
On the TV, after posting this yesterday, I tested using the audio output of the TV itself, which is NVIDIA High Definition Audio, and the issue was barely noticeable. In fact, when I paused, I could hardly hear the sound, and when I resumed, it would instantly synchronize, unlike when I use the output for wired headphones, where I can pause and resume, and it doesn't manage to synchronize.
I'll keep testing.

I didn’t know about that program. I’ll test it and let you know, but if you’re asking whether this happens when using one of those programs, the answer is no. It happens with Windows default and Realtek Audio Console as the driverVocaleyes wrote: ↑09 Jan 2025, 16:46Using a volume boosting app? Re: Audio and Video Out of Sync
wtf I fixed it i used chatgpt to suggest a way to solve it, and it was right. I had to download Equalizer APO and the Peace addon, install APO on the devices I use, and with the Peace addon, add the delay. In my case, I had to set it to 320, and that was it—problem solved I can't believe it

It's just that, you need to look for a program called Equalizer APO, which is on SourceForge, and install it on the devices you use. I installed it on my headphones, microphone, and speakers.bwainzz wrote: ↑10 Jan 2025, 11:16Pls explain moreAsesino34 wrote: ↑09 Jan 2025, 17:44wtf I fixed it i used chatgpt to suggest a way to solve it, and it was right. Once you've done that, install the addon called Peace GUI, which is also on SourceForge. When you install it, it will tell you that you need to install Equalizer APO first.
When you have everything set up, open the Peace addon, which will appear in the Windows start menu. Go to the effects section, and where it says "Channel Delay," start adding delay. Obviously, it’s better if you use some audio and video sync test video to adjust it and test
