Best way to FPS=HZ without RTSS?

Post by Ron » 09 Feb 2025, 14:14

Hello, I'm trying to use my Zowie 2546k with 240hz dyac on the game Delta Force. This game has an anti cheat that disallows RTSS. I recently upgraded to NVIDIA GPU and am getting around 350 fps without upscaling or frame gen. What would be the best way to cap the FPS to my monitors refresh rate to best utilize dyac? I do fast panning movements to spot enemies and want to minimize the lag penalties of vsync. Would NVIDIA's adaptive vsync be my best option here? Would the in game frame limiter be faster? I'm new to NVIDIA and unsure of these new options. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

I find NVIDIA Frame Limiter to be very good and accurate. I am using 482 FPS limit with 480Hz.

Guys, in case of 240hz monitor and average fps ~185 i should change 2546X refresh rate to 180hz for hz = fps matching? I use fps cap in Nvidia cuz its looks much better than uncapped.

Thanks for reply!

Yes, I'm trying to use DyAc 2 (just bought the monitor), but at the moment it feels laggy.

That's why I'm thinking about trying a lower refresh rate to match my FPS cap.

Maybe I should try the "Total Vertical Refresh Rate" trick too?

Or do you think it's better to use Nvidia G-Sync and forget about DyAc? Is the XL2546X model compatible with G-Sync?

I'm only playing CS2, and with my current settings, FPS drops feel really bad.
On my previous 144Hz IPS monitor with G-Sync (AOC 24G2U), it looked much smoother.

I’d really appreciate any advice.
