Hey all,
I have a pair of Xreal glasses coming for some bed gaming with moonlight streaming, and I'm just a bit unsure of ideal fps capping for them since they don't have any VRR tech. The glasses are 120hz, and I'm going to be streaming cyberpunk and I can reliably hit about 85fps native with all the graphics settings I prefer.
What is the ideal fps cap I should be targeting here? I'm a bit unsure if I need to be targeting divisible integers of the 120hz, as I'm typically using my gsync monitor and this isn't usually a concern.
On one hand I could just cap to 60 and do 2xfg to hit the 120, but this requires HAGS enabled and I generally avoid it with moonlight as it adds a bit of host processing latency. But I'm unsure if say capping at 75 or 80fps and displaying on 120hz would look bad due to frame pacing.
I have looked around quite a bit but I haven't found an answer on this since everything I'm finding comes up in relation to VRR enabled displays.
Thank you!

Re: Framerate capping on non VRR displays
60FPS is your only option if you don't use frame gen. The only FPS limiter that can do that smoothly is SpecialK's "normal" limiter when right-clicking on the FPS cap entry bar and selecting one of the fractional caps.
SpecialK 1/2 latent sync or RTSS 1/2 scanline sync is another option for smooth 60FPS without lag, if you have GPU headroom to spare.
Another way is using 1/2 vsync, but that adds way too much lag.
For frame gen though, you can try using FSR 3 frame generation through Nukem's DLSS-to-FSR mod. I think it works without HAGS, but don't quote me on that.
