I currently own XG2341, and I am very happy with the overall performance of the displays, however I don't believe that we have seen another Blur Busters tune LCD panel since then. I was hoping to see 240 Hz (or more) 1440p display with Blur Busters in recent years, but this hasn't come to pass.
There are the Nvidia Pulsar Monitors, which were announced back in January 2024 (at CES), but they seem to be taking an awful long time to come out. Also, those Pulsar Monitors (specifically the ASUS model) seem to be using the same panel PG27AQN, which is quite disappointing, as this panel has a KSF Phosphur backlight so there will be red trailing artifacts for low-hertz strobes. Why did they choose this panel? I suspect that Nvidia Pulsar would look a lot better at 100 Hertz and lower if they opted for a QDEF backlit panel, but perhaps they are not available yet.
I imagine that 27-inch 1440p 240Hz+ LCD panel with Blur Busters strobe tuning would do quite well. Has OLED stifled appetite from manufacturers for this type of product?

The most recent news is about a shader that simulates CRT rolling scan lines. It seems to be the new focus of Blur Busters. If we could somehow get the shader working on any game, perhaps the days of needing blur busters tuned monitors will be over.

There is actually nothing from stopping the manifacturers to grab a PG27AQN panel, implement it with a different WLED backlight (YAG phosphor or QD-based, to avoid red fringing) and tune it's strobing capabilities akin to the XG2431.harrison256 wrote: ↑09 Apr 2025, 04:32Hello,

You could DIY this by following Elexor's LCD strobing thread & looking for some content on how to swap out the backlight.
It's a lack of customer demand which is the issue, as was the case for years prior to the XG2431's release...
It seems to me that Chief has shifted more towards the OLED displays market sadly, leaving LCD behind...
I'd love for someone to make a ~24" 1440p 240Hz display with great backlight strobing, using the recently-released IPS panels (which the Q25G4S and P2510S sport) with a custom WLED backlight solution.
