1600 dpi on CS2?

Post by why » 19 Apr 2025, 11:49

Hello,

I've been looking on the website about DPIs and sensitivity's, but most of them are from a year ago. Does anyone know if CS2 can handle 1600DPI or should I just go back to 800DPI?

Just lower the sensitivity to compensate. I don't think games care much about DPI.

Depends on mouse, its great for awping but horrible for rifling, at least at my logitech g pro x superlight. The 1600dpi behaves worse than 800 dpi with half sens (= same eDpi), the mouse seems to record too many parasitic moves so the aim is wonky and the crosshair is very unstable to place. Some mouses may work better, its model specific.

Yeah I can really feel it. Im only a rifler, I cant think of the last time I bought a awp. going from 1600 to 800 dpi feels way more different. But lets say I practice everyday on 1600 dpi would it be better to switch?

Pros play logitech g pro x superlight at 800dpi, even awpers. And i can confirm, 800 is fine, 1600 is weird and wonky feeling, even 1000 was bad, seems like the default multiplier is 800 and any custom values behave like a next multiplier of 800 (1000 had same wonky feeling like 1600 not too close to 800). With rifles is 800 a clear choice, for awping someone may utilize the faster 1600 response which is really noticable when sniping. But the parasitic movements scanned are just too much, where is 800dpi holding a clear track, 1600dpi wobbles crosshair too much making it too shaky and jittery to control and place, there is literally no tolerance to unwanted scanning of arm-shakiness.
